– on this full-day safari tour! With hotel pickup from your central Cape Town hotel
included, this day trip provides a worry-free experience so all you have to do is
get excited for your exploration of the private, malaria-free reserve. Take an
unforgettable game drive through the park, watching out for famous Big Five
animals, as well as endangered species like the
‘Aquila’ Black Eagle.
- Not allowed for children aged under 2yrs old
- A minimum of 2 adults per booking is required
- Tour accommodates maximum 8 guests, however there will be more guests at the Reserve and on the game drive.
- Cullinan Guided Journeys strictly follow the SA Government approved TBCSA Health and Safety COVID-19 Protocols. Should guests present COVID-19 symptoms, COVID testing and quarantine will be at their own cost. We recommend that you ensure that your guests take adequate personal travel insurance cover before departure from home.
- If guests are making their own way to a listed pick-up point, they need to allow sufficient travelling time (ie… traffic delays etc…) in order to arrive at the pickup point in time for collection.
- Should guests not arrive by the scheduled departure time, the tour will depart and no refunds will be given.
- It is compulsory that guests contact us 48 hours prior to tour departure to re-confirm pick up and drop off details. Should clients not make contact with us by 48 hours prior to travel date, the booking will automatically be cancelled.

- When more than one person is travelling – we require names and last names of all guests travelling (reason being if tour booking is made with one person and the hotel reservation is made under another, we will be informed by the hotel that there ais nobody by that name at the hotel which will result in delays and could cause the guests to miss the tour).

Well worth every penny! Definitely recommend to all. - This tour was wonderful. The hotel pick up driver was friendly and informative as we drove to Aquila. Once there the buffet lunch was more than ever expected. It was a gourmet buffet!
Once on the reserve in the truck, again we had a wonderful driver that made sure we saw and experienced as much of the animals as possible. He always asked before leaving a section of we got enough pictures and made sure we had a great time.

Unforgettable experience - A superb safari experience led by the excellent, knowledgeable and hilarious Mark. We saw Rhino, lions, hippopotamus, elephants, antelope, buffalo, ostrich, giraffe, zebra. Don’t forget to take cash to tip the excellent tour guide. Great value and unforgettable experience

A must see experience! - The animals were so close and we got to see every animal but the leopard, the guide was extremely knowledgeable, great experience. Only complaint was the safari ride was very rough on the body.

Maximum fun and wild animal viewing in a single day trip from Cape Town - Perfect day trip. Didn’t expect to have a great first safari experience relatively close to Cape Town and not need an overnight stay. 2+ hour drive out, great lunch provided by the hotel, and then a 2 hour safari tour where we saw lions, Cape Town buffalo, ostriches, giraffes, hippos (only tops coming out of water since it was midday), rhinos, elans, zebras and baboons.

Aquila Game Reserve Wildlife Safari - The whole day from stsrt to finish was excellent. The ship cancelled their tours as we were late getting in. We contacted Viator and they assured us that the tour would go ahead. We left about 3 hours late which didn't matter to us we were still out for the sunset and the animals are more active at the end of the day. The bus driver and the tour guide were full of knowledge in their respective rolls. We saw all of the animals that we expected to see and the guide explained so much about the animals. Even though we left late the tour was not rushed. We have used Viator before and will continue to do so as everything runs like clockwork.

Worth it! - Great experience, definitely recommend! Was able to see 4 out of the big 5 and enjoyed the entire ride! It’s not a natural food chain safari as all of the animals except for the lions are in one enclosed area and then the lions have their own separate area as well. Our driver took us to the lions area twice because the first time we went into the space of the lions we weren’t able to spot them. Then our driver was so nice he took us once more after we took the break to drink water and we were very lucky we got to see all four lions the second time! Although it’s not promised you’ll see all of the animals (and even I thought I wasn’t going to be able to see the lions), we saw a lot of other animals like zebras, elephants, giraffes, hippos, etc and it just so happened we got lucky and also saw the lions! Definitely worth it and would do it again!

A real hidden gem! - If you are in Cape Town there is really no need to go to JHB for a real Game Drive experience as it is all here at Aquila. It was a bit cold but we had the most stunning Game Drive spotting all the animals and at the end enjoyed a drink under the stars before heading back. On the get go the Elephants came to greet and driving with the lions what an experience. International tourists will enjoy this coupled with Cape Town beaches without having to travel a million miles! The whole place from the fantastic buffet meals, the star gazing, the drives and the relaxing areas is stunning! I really suggest an overnight experience to experience everything this resort has to offer. The staff was friendly to the max! This place will definitely see me and my family again

Good but not Wild - Should be advertised as wildlife drive, pretty sure you are guaranteed to see everything. The animals whilst free from cages are separated from predators so it's not wild in that sense. The staff know where and how many animals they have. Was still nice to see Lions, Elephants and Rhinos that have room to roam.
