Best place to learn about Smoky Mountain history - We did the bus tour with Mark on a Tuesday morning, and ended up being the only ones on the tour, which was excellent. Mark was very informative and enthusiastic about the area and the heritage. He knows many descendants of the original settlers, so told us of personal accounts handed down within the families. If you are at all interested in the history of the area, the Heritage Center and the tour are well worth doing. I think there were more informational signs at the Heritage Center than in the whole GSMNP. The museum and grounds admission are included in the tour price. I think they only do the tours on Tuesday and Thursday in the fall. Highly recommend.

Great Place - We went there just to see what may be in the Museum. You couldn't ask for a better place to go and get history on the Indians in Townsend. We enjoyed it so much we were ready to go again the next day. We have told everyone we can about the place. Never knew it was there and am glad we found it. Well worth the 10 dollars for us Senior Citizens. Will do this again.

Amazing - How they settled and lived in the area of where their house was. The work that had to be done before mealtime and bedtime.

Very enjoyable for our 55+ family! - Fantastic museum and we also loved the cabins and other buildings. My dad, who turns 90 this year, was reminded of his grandma's home.

A trip into Tennessee's past - Outside: Taking a walk into the past, seeing how our ancestors lived. Inside: Seeing and reading about the Cherokee and how they lived.
