Reef Adventure with a Fantastic Crew - I took the “Adrenalin - Great Barrier Reef and MOUA Day Trip - Snorkeling” tour and had an amazing experience. The crew was highly professional and made safety a clear priority throughout the day. Everything ran on schedule, and the trip was packed with unforgettable moments—from the vibrant marine life to the stunning underwater sculptures at MOUA. What stood out most to me was the fantastic atmosphere on the boat. The team was not only knowledgeable and informative but also warm, upbeat and welcoming. The captain kept us laughing with his jokes, and the whole crew created a lighthearted, enjoyable vibe that made being on the boat just as fun as being in the water. It was an incredible way to explore the reef—educational, adventurous and full of great energy.

Underwater adventure - A roller coaster ride out to the reef, was an exhilarating way to start the day! A small group of people on board added to the experience where you weren’t just another number. The crew were all extremely accommodating and skilled in their craft - as a solo traveller, this is always reassuring. Visibility in the water was ok however, that did not detract from the adventure as my guide Jack lead the way to all the hidden gems. Lots of food and snacks provided and dives were not rushed. Definitely recommend this tour!

Snorkelling paradise - The ocean could not have been calmer. The fish were plentiful and the statues of MOUA were amazing. Plenty of food to go around. It was a fabulous day out.

Snorkel tour with Adrenalin! - Amazing snorkel tour of the reef! I saw hundreds of fish and was surrounded by coral, and I have the beautiful photos to prove it! I wld recommend a snorkel tour with Cassey as ur guide, esp if ur going solo. She is a wealth of knowledge and spotted lots of things I wld have missed, such as the humungous Triton snail eating a purple starfish. All the work Cassey and Adrenalin does towards conservation was an eye opener. I did not know that people count the fish and coral in the sea. And it’s not easy! MOUA - the museum of underwater art - was visible as a snorkeler. I was worried I wouldn’t be able to see it, but the sentinels and trees were clearly visible. It was really eerie looking down on the statues. Almost like looking on a lost Atlantis. All up a top trip and the catering catered to Coeliacs including being careful of cross contamination in the buffet. Thx Matilde! Would thoroughly recommend!

Could be better - The reef is breathtaking and very enjoyable, it is a must see. We had both divers and snorkelling in our group. Snorkellers were just left to do there own thing which was good. The divers stated the guides were not the best. The lunch and snacks are sub standard, stale bread, bit of lettuce and processed ham etc. Morning afternoon tea some rock melon and scotch finger biscuits. Not worth the money you pay. We have dived in Coron, philippines and you get a feast cooked. Some staff were good, others a tad rude. But on a whole it was a great experience thanks to the reef.

Interesting trip but poorly advertised as tropical lunch - An enjoyable day out snorkelling and seeing John Brewers Reef teeming with sealife. Friendly staff but not really a tropical lunch as it is actually a put it your self sandwich. Should also give the reef info on the trip out and not the trip back. An enjoyable day nevertheless and well staffed.

Great Barrier Reef snorkeling - I was not prepared for snorkeling so it made the trip long. That, of course is my fault. The boat seating was very uncomfortable for as long as trip that it was.

WORST DIVING EXPERIENCE AFTER 145 DIVES AROUND THE WORLD, VER Y UNPROFESSIONAL CREW AND EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE - WORST DIVING EXPERIENCE AFTER 145 DIVES AROUND THE WORLD, VER Y UNPROFESSIONAL CREW AND EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE Activity: Adrenalin - Great Barrier Reef and MOUA Day Trip - Certified Diver Price: Extremely expensive, $459 + $10 (booking fee) for 2 dives at the same place, with NO guide (if you want a guide you have to pay extra $20/dive). Dive site: Nothing special. It’s the GBR, you expect something special! But we’re in a small reef where corals are so so and the only big marine life we see is humphead wrasse and whitetip reef shark (not even a moray, a stingray, a sea turtle… very common animals in reef areas). And the “museum”, Museum Of Underwater Art (MOUA), what a shame!! Equipment: Old, and wet suits for snorkel are too thin. Snorkel activity: I was diving but my friend was snorkeling, she has no experience (she told that to the person in charge) but she was told to go with her buddy (a 17 y.o. girl that had no experience as well, and who she had just met 10 minutes before). Diving activity: When we arrive at the meeting point to depart with the boat, Matilda (PADI N520525, the one in charge of the diving… I searched for her in Adrenalin website, but there’s no “our team” section) confirmed my diving certification and told me I was going with no guide because I didn’t book it (the truth is that I didn’t pay attention to the extras when booking, assuming that when you dive with a diving center a guide goes with you in a group of 4-8 divers; at least that’s how I have dived in Maldives, Red Sea, Seychelles, Mexico, Belize, Costa Rica, Italy, Spain…, and the guide is included in the price of the dive). As I don’t want to pay any extra (it would be $509 for 2 dives), and Matilda tells me it’s an easy dive site and there’s another experienced diver who didn’t book the guide (so we can be buddies), I accept to dive unguided with the experienced buddy. First dive: The experienced diver results to be a 72 y.o. lady, overweighted, with mobility problems (2 knee surgeries with prosthesis and ankle problems). After helping her with the equipment, we start the first dive. We need 3 times because she needs more weights in her BCD, no one from Adrenalin helps her, I have to do it. Finally we start the dive 20 minutes after the rest of the divers (I was about to say “group” but it was not a group). After 15 minutes diving the reef, the experienced diver tells me to turn back, and 10 minutes later (dive time is 25 minutes) she tells me she has 60bar left (I had 130bar left), so I tell her to slowly go up and do the safety stop at 5m deep, even if we are not close to the boat. She goes straight up with no safety stop. I keep calm and do my safety stop for 3 minutes, keeping an eye on her all the time. When I reach the surface, one member of the crew has arrived with a small boat to pick her up, and asks me if I can manage to swim to the boat (about 70-80m against mild-hard currents). I arrived exhausted! Lunch time: The “menu” is bread, salad, humus, 4 slices of cheese and 4 slices of ham/salami… ridiculous!!! During the lunch, Matilda asked me how the dive was, so I explained her my bad experience, that I didn’t enjoy the dive at all, that I had to finish my dive with 120bar because of my “experienced” buddy… I was really pissed off because it was not safe, I couldn’t enjoy the dive and I had to take care of my buddy. Matilda seemed to be sad for me and offered me to join her on the second dive. Second dive: We didn’t see much, but at least it lasted 47 minutes and was safe. Surprise: Once onboard, after the second dive, Matilda asks me for $20 for the guided dive. Really? After what happened on the first one? And without telling me anything about paying $20 when she offered me to join her for the second dive? Better to avoid this diving center and this dive site too.
