Join a professional crew aboard a custom-built vessel for snorkeling, an introductory diving with an experienced instructor, or two certified dives in the UNESCO-listed Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. This day trip takes you from Townsville or Magnetic Island to the Central Section of the Great Barrier Reef, where you get the chance to see reef fish, sea turtles, stingrays, reef sharks and more up close. Snorkel equipment is included.
- Minimum age is 6 years for Snorkelling and 12 for Discover Scuba Diving
- Certified divers must present proof of certification to crew on board on the day
- Introductory divers MUST fill out a basic medical form prior to their dive. Some existing medical conditions may not allow you to dive
- Please wear your swimwear and bring a towel, hat, sunscreen and camera
- Heights, weights and shoe sizes MUST be advised at time of booking

Great diving experience - We did our PADI Open Water dives with Adrenalin, having done the confined water dives in the U.K. We were a family of 4, one snorkelled, three dived. We took two trips with Adrenalin and did 4 dives. The first day the conditions were amazing and the sea was a mill-pond. The second trip was windy with rough seas. Luckily we had all taken sea-sickness pills (Kwells) and even though two of our party have had seasickness in the past, they were OK. The dives themselves went very well. We had John as our instructor on the first day, and he was patient with my daughter (10) who was very nervous, and got her through all the skills for her Junior Scuba Diver certification. Before the trip she wasn’t sure if she would dive on day 2 or snorkel, but she enjoyed it so much she decided to dive again. The second day we had Billy to get my son and I through our Open Water Diver certifications, who was great even though he was unwell on the way out himself. My daughter dived with Cassie, who held her hand and she had a great day!
On both trips we saw whales on the way out. On the reef, between us, our party saw reef shark, grouper, barracudas, sea cucumbers, giant clams, a porcupine fish, a parrot fish and many more fish and coral. The MOUA was interesting as well and we enjoyed swimming through the sunken greenhouse. Thank you Adrenalin Dive!

Check the weather when booking!! - The crew, the boat, equipment, light lunch and the instruction were all excellent.
However, be aware if you go on a bad weather day this trip will be torment - 2 hours forty minutes each way through rough seas on aluminum benches with people being sick. The snorkelling site will be barely suitable due to wind and strong water current.
Not sure what the solution is - I guess pre book only a couple days out when you can check the forecast and be assured of good weather, otherwise it’s an expensive way to be miserable for a day.

GREAT DAY AMAZING DIVING AWESOME CREW - All smooth from booking to end of boattrip. Great, superfriendly, helpful crew.
Absolutely amazing dive, very nice lunch and actually served tea/coffee morning and afternoon.
If you have license but havent been diving for some time like me and therefor was planning to snorkle, FORGETit ,These guys give you all the refreshing you need and makes sure you have a good time under water. Loved it!!!

Awesome GBR trip - Take a day and head to the reef. It’s a bit of a ride out but it’s worth it. Staff are helpful and entertaining.
Diving was great with plenty to see and great visibility.
Lunch is simple but does the trick. We got more snacks on the way home, fruit, biscuits, cheese and crackers. All that was missing was the champagne.
Definitely recommend to all divers.

Great Reef Location Selection - The reef that we visited was healthy and thriving. Staff could have been friendlier though and the lack of food/drink options was disappointing.

Ocean like glass, hope to make it a yearly outing. - We lucked out and scored a beautiful calm day when the ocean was like glass and crystal clear.
There was a couple of thing that could have improved out experience. More detailed instructions on how to find the boat in the morning would have been helpful. We walked around for 5 minutes until another family came along and I asked them if they where booked on the tour too and they said Yes and that they had also asked directions of someone else to how to find the boat too.
The boat was adequate however, the fumes from the engines were overwhelming when they were running. I had to go up on top so I didn't get sick. A curtained off section somewhere at the front of the boat to get dressed in and also to dress kids would be helpful as there is only a tiny toilet.
The staff were inexperienced at working together and with the boat but they were friendly, enthusiastic and keen to be involved with the guests' experience.
We will go again, I hope we get another calm day.

Great experience and wonderful staff - Recently went on a tour to the Great Barrier Reef with Adrenalin. It was a wonderful experience and the divers were helpful and patient.

Better for divers - We found that this tour is better suited to diving than snorkeling. A lunch service and other offerings would be a nice addition given the length of the day

Near Drowning - On a recent trip my fellow snorkelled took on some water Luckily for her there were doctors and nurses also diving with us if not she would definitely not be alive today. The oxygen did not work because the regulators were changed but the tanks were not and therefore they didn’t fit The crew were not informed. They were unable to reach the coast guard for some reason and the mobile phone didn’t work Luckily a research ship was nearby and we used their oxygen tanks The captain wanted to make the 2 hour trip back to Magnetic She would surely have not survived as her lungs were aspirating. She was airlifted by helicopter and spent 2 days in intensive care. Thank God for the doctors who were insistent on what to do.The owner was profusely apologetic but after I made contact with the company and asked for her trip cost to be refunded as a gesture of good will they did not return my call Just be aware The company was ill equipped to handle an emergency and made no effort for repatriation
