- Itachi River - Along the Itachi River, you’ll find Jizo statues that date back 250 years, erected in hopes of recovery from an epidemic caused by a major earthquake. Some statues are accompanied by wells with water from the melting snow of the Tateyama Mountain Range. The riverside promenade is meticulously maintained by local residents. Within walking distance from the city center, it’s a perfect spot to stroll in a kimono, enjoying both natural beauty and the rhythm of daily life. If you’re lucky, you might even get to walk with our mascot dog, a Shiba Inu!
