Embark on a journey into the enchanting world of Transylvania!
The two-day trip (starting from Bucharest) incorporates visits to the primary medieval fortresses of Transylvania: The city of Brasov, the impressive Rasnov citadel dating back to the 15th century, and Sighisoara, one of Europe’s most beautiful, well-maintained, and still inhabited medieval citadels. A potential stopover could be the Peles Castle in Sinaia.
On the second day, explore the Rupea citadel - one of the most ancient and well-preserved medieval sites in Romania, with archaeological excavations revealing traces of human habitation dating back to the Paleolithic and early Neolithic periods, and the Prejmer fortress - the biggest fortified church in southeastern Europe. An alternative visit could be to the Dracula Castle in Bran.
Our guide will enlighten you about the history of medieval defense structures, how inhabitants repelled their foes, and how this eventually became a component of our Romanian heritage.
