Highlights
  • Riserva Naturale Saline Di Trapani E Paceco - It starts from via admiral Staiti n101 (fire brigade barracks), at the port. In 10 minutes we will reach the first salt mine, the “Maria Stella”, where we will admire the first mill built here in Trapani. The last salt pan will allow us to enter an ancient mill of over 600 years, now a museum, to discover how the various tools were collected, how they worked, what role the salt played in this place and the differences between past and present.

Trapani salt pans at sunset - Congratulations to Alessio's preparation and friendliness! Ultra recommended tour for everyone! The salt pans are spectacular just to visit but without the explanations provided by Alessio we would not have enjoyed the entire sensory experience! Highly recommended at sunset, perhaps inquiring first if the relevant restaurant is open so you can linger in a fascinating place.

Suggestive and highly recommended excursion! - I highly recommend this suggestive excursion. The place is enchanting, immersed in an atmosphere of silence and peace. The trip includes an interesting visit to the salt museum set up inside a majestic, perfectly preserved 1500s mill, a walk along the paths between the salt pans and a tasting of salt and flavored salts which helps us understand their different characteristics. I was lucky enough to have Alessio as my companion, an extremely knowledgeable boy with a brilliant narrative. He provided me with technical information combined with anecdotes and curiosities that without ever boring make me understand the importance of salt over the centuries and the harvesting processes. I carry with me the memory of three hours that flew by in a flash and the sensation of feeling immersed and aware of the spirit of the place. Experience to repeat ☺️

Outstanding Salt Pan Tour - Alessio was a very pleasant, knowledgeable, and interesting guide. It was obvious that he enjoyed sharing the salt flats with us. He answered our questions and gave us time to look at and take pictures of things that interested us. He was on time for our pick up, very friendly, and drove an exceptionally clean and comfortable vehicle. We would highly recommend this tour, and him.
