Steinsdalsfossen - The Steinsdalsfossen waterfall near Norheimsund is breathtaking. You can walk behind it without getting wet. Formed in 1699 when the river changed course, Steinsdalsfossen stands approximately 50 meters tall. A path allows you to walk between the rock face and the water without getting wet, making it one of Norway’s most visited waterfalls. Tourist information and public restrooms are located right at the parking area. A short path over an old stone arch bridge leads you to the waterfall. If you wish, you can also visit a cozy café located just behind the bridge and enjoy the sound of the rushing stream. WE WILL STAY HERE FOR ABOUT 25 MINUTES, AND THE DRIVE TO THE NEXT STOP IS 10 MINUTES.
-
Oystese - We arrive in Øystese around 12:15 pm for our lunch break at Spildegarden Sider Farm. (included) The lounge here is very cozy and features a fireplace. The farm offers a spectacular view of the Hardangerfjord. The farmer also sells his apple cider and other products. WE WILL STAY HERE FOR ABOUT AN HOUR.

Hardanger Fjord - A scenic drive along the Hardanger Fjord to Odda awaits us. The fjord will be close to our right the entire time, with apple and cherry orchards rising to our left. You’ll see individual cottages beautifully situated along the fjord. We pass through the small village of Kinsarvik, where the ferry departs for Utne.
-
Utne - PLEASE NOTE: FROM MAY 1, WE WILL BE STOPPING IN ODDA AND NOT AT THE ULLENSVANG HOTEL. Our journey continues along the Hardanger Fjord, showcasing picturesque landscapes. We will arrive at Hotel Ullensvang around 3:15 pm, where coffee or tea and a delicious cake will be waiting for us. (included) Hotel Ullensvang was founded by 14-year-old Hans Utne, who bought a small plot of land on the fjord’s banks and built a boathouse for overnight stays. The hotel has since expanded and is now one of Norway’s most beautiful, located right on the Hardanger Fjord. Norway’s famous composer Edvard Grieg spent many summers here, both relaxing and composing. He found peace in a small hut that now stands in the hotel’s garden. WE WILL STAY HERE FOR HALF AN HOUR, AND THE DRIVE TO THE FERRY TAKES ABOUT 1 HOUR AND 45 MINUTES.
-
Odda - We head to the outermost tip of the Hardanger Fjord, where the small town of Odda is located. Around 1900, Odda was a popular destination for wealthy summer visitors and was once the most visited place. In 1906, the Tyssedal hydroelectric power station was built to supply electricity to the carbide and cyanamide factories in Odda, turning it into an industrial town and diminishing its tourist appeal. However, in recent years, Odda has seen a resurgence in tourism. We will only drive through this small town.
-
Jondal - The ferry from Jondal to Tørvikbygd departs promptly at 5:20 pm. We cross the main arm of the Hardangerfjord here. The ferry has restrooms and a self-service café. THE FERRY CROSSING TAKES 20 MINUTES.
-
Tørvikbygd - At 5:40 pm, the ferry docks in Tørvikbygd. From here, we head directly to Bergen.
-
Bergen - The drive back to Bergen takes about an hour and a half, with an estimated arrival at your hotel in Bergen around 7:15 pm. Most restaurants in Bergen close their kitchens at 9 pm, so you’ll have enough time to find a suitable place for dinner. We can drop you off directly at your hotel or any other location in the city center if you prefer.
