In 1903, the first tree of this garden, created by the famous actress Madame Thébault, was planted. The inspiration came from the impressionist painter Claude Monet, himself a passionate gardener. It is to him that we owe the original character of the garden, faithfully preserved until today. The neo-futurist Jardins d’Étretat extend over the cliffs of the Côte d’Albâtre, one of the wonders of Normandy with a view listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
