- Postojna Cave - Postojna Cave, the queen of all caves, is the best-known cave in the world. It is also the greatest tourist attraction in Slovenia and one of the world’s largest karst monuments. This is the only place in the world where the underground landscape can be traversed on an electric train and where you get to meet this underground kingdom’s most famous inhabitant
- the proteus (olm)
- up close. A fantastic web of tunnels, passages, galleries and halls, astonishing diversity of karst features, as well as easy access are certainly the main reasons for such popularity of the cave and a large number of visitors (more than 36 million of them in over 200 years).
- Predjama Castle - The Predjama Castle reigns over the surrounding area, not far from the Postojna Cave, in the idyllic village of Predjama. This picturesque, magnificent, defiant, mysterious and impregnable castle has been perched up in the middle of a vertical 123-meter high cliff for more than 800 years. Its romantic appeal is further emphasized by the idyllic Lokva River, which disappears into the underground world deep down below the castle. As the only preserved cave castle in Europe, the Predjama Castle offers a unique insight into the building techniques and resourcefulness of people in the Middle Ages, who were looking for and found a safe harbor for themselves right at the entrance into the cave. During a siege that took place in the 15th century, the castle provided a refuge for its best known and most notorious owner - Erazem of Predjama. The legend about the courageous robber baron Erazem, who remained undefeated until one of his servants betrayed him, is still in people’s minds, inspiring and alluring as ever. It was this safe abode of his which helped the brave knight resist the besiegers without much difficulty for more than a year.

Great choice for cruise excursion - We were notified that since this tour was timed with our cruise ship, the group would be larger (I think it was two buses). The operator gave plenty of opportunity to change if you wanted smaller tour. (Someone complained on our bus but it never was billed as a guided tour-they provided bus transport and got tickets to sights for us). We were met right outside our cruise ship with clearly marked personnel. Both sights are interesting. The entire excursion is just long enough of a day to then have a little free time to walk around Trieste for a few hours. The caves were unbelievable. I recommend that you wear good shoes and be physically fit since there are some ups and downs on ramps. I did see some people manage with a cane. It's a bit wet in the caves as expected. Dress warm too since it is damp.

Awesome tour - Awesome tour with Ernie. Booked the small group option with skip the line option and wasn’t disappointed. Ernie’s friendly nature and fun facts about the caves & castle made a very enjoyable day.

Discover Slovenia excursion in a short time! - Our guide Ernest was the best, described everything on our way to the caves and castle. Slovenia is beautiful and well worth the short jaunt from Trieste. He made sure we got back in time to board our ship at 2:00 pm. Dropped us off at the port. Met at the hotel across from the port. Made it easy to pick up tour and depart on time. My PSA: Please tip your guides as you would a restaurant server. Enjoy

Excellent way to see Predjama and Postojna - I enjoyed my trip to Predjama castle and Postojna caves. Our driver was very helpful and told us about the surrounding area. The castle was amazing and the caves blew my mind. Worth taking this trip and having it all planned for you.

Great Day at Castle & Cave - Our group of 4 had a great day with Boris. Boris picked us up at our Trieste hotel and made sure we were dressed appropriately (castle is chilly!) and were on time. Boris also made a great recommendation for Solvanian dessert. The castle and cave were both amazing and highly recommended.

Worthwhile - Our guide / driver, Ernest, was fantastic, knowledgeable, sense of humour and a very good driver.
Visiting the caves and the castle was a wonderful experience, only drawback, hence only 4 stars, was the audio in the cave.

Great trip - Could have used more time at the castle. It was very rushed with no time to enjoy the site. The caves were incredible

Enjoyed seeing the... - Enjoyed seeing the castle’s architecture & learning its history.
The cave exploration had a cool train ride through a narrow tunnel into the cave interior. Felt that interior lighting could have been better.

KOPER TRIPS "Small Group Tours" are a SCAM - KOPER TRIPS who provided this tour are DISHONEST and UNTRUSTWORTHY and are SCAMMING customers by charging for Small Group Tours which they don't operate.
Lots of companies provide tours to the beautiful Postojna Caves so we suggest you try someone else who won't rip you off and then lie about it to TripAdvisor.
We purchased a higher-priced Small Group Tour to the Postojna Caves which was advertised as having a maximum of 15 people. On the day, we were forced to take a coach with around 40 other people, by a very grumpy man who just kept telling us we were wrong even though we had the Small Group Tour order and receipt in our hands to prove it.
We also found out there were several other people on the same bus who had purchased the higher-priced Small Group Tour but we're made to join in with the large, cheaper tour or miss out entirely.
We later requested a partial refund from TripAdvisor, as whilst we reluctantly went on the large group tour (it was our last day in Trieste so had no other option to get to Postojna) we felt a partial refund was fair considering we paid extra for a Small Group. TripAdvisor refused to provide anything, saying the tour operator told them they had told us the day before the tour that the small group tour was not on. This is completely untrue as we never received any such notification.
We asked TripAdvisor for proof from the tour operator that they did contact us, but they never replied. Disappointing service from TripAdvisor and complete lies from KOPER TRIPS.
