A little bit of Paradise - My sister and I (not teens but no appropriate choice in drop down menu) went on this tour. A wonderful experience watching beautiful Hummingbirds amongst their natural habitat. A family run business that is run to support the environment and creatures within it. Fantastic delicious home made mango ice cream made the experience even more special. The warm welcome from the owners and their lovely spaniel was lovely. We were able to walk in the grounds (that part may be a challenge if mobility is compromised). Terry our driver explained about the different flowers, trees and fruit and added to the overall experience with his knowledge. Make sure you use plenty of insect repellant as in this natural environment the mosquitoes are many. We bought home made orange marmalade, mango chutney and mango jam with cinnamon all for 30TT each. pepper sauce was also available. All natural ingredients. Highly recommended.

Hummingbird sanctuary - The bird sanctuary, particularly the hummingbirds is well worth a visit. There is a TT$120 (GBP13.50) admission fee (that covered all in our group) payable at the site upon entry. The birds are fed every 15 minutes and were visible the whole time we were present. The birds are flying free right in front of ones eyes and within touching distance, although they are so quick you'll never touch one. The variety of hummingbirds alone is amazing. Not sure you need a half day Island tour, better off getting a local taxi to take you directly there. Moving down to the fish pond is a bit fraught if the mango trees have shed their fruit on the ground, gets very messy.....but you get to feed the fish.

Interesting visit - We were picked up at out appartment early in the morning (recommended) and saw at least 3 to 4 dozen hummingbirds + others flying around and feeding (less on show if you arrive later), and also had a guided tour around garden, where various trees and plants, etc. were pointed out and discussed. I thought it was, though, rather expensive for what we saw, although this is probably the only way to see them really close up (you can get within 6 inches of them and feel the draft from their movement.)

Humming birds - lots to see but few facts! - Terry was a great guide - very friendly and knowledgeable. We went to the Adventure Farm and Nature Reserve, the Tobago Forest Reserve didn’t seem to happen. The hummingbirds at the nature reserve were astonishing, colourful and so many to see! It was a shame that the owners didn’t really get involved with an explanation of what we were looking at, humming bird facts, nesting, chicks etc. The owner topped up the feeders but didn’t say much. There were a few dusty laminated sheets with some explanations on hummingbirds but that was it.
