Horse riding in Fuerteventura: an unforgettable experience - **Horse riding in Fuerteventura: an unforgettable experience** I had the opportunity to take a one-hour horseback ride in Fuerteventura, Spain, and I was absolutely delighted with the experience. The departure is from the Crines del Viento ranch, located in the town of Triquivijate. We were greeted by a friendly and experienced guide who gave us some basic instructions on how to ride a horse. The ride took us through the magnificent landscapes of the interior of the island. We crossed lava fields, ravines and mountains. The landscape was breathtaking, and it was a pleasure to discover it on horseback. The horses were well trained and easy to drive. The guide was very attentive and gave us tips to make the most of our walk. I had a wonderful time on this horseback ride. It was a unique experience that allowed me to discover the beauty of Fuerteventura in a different way. **Strong points** * Wonderful landscapes * Well-trained horses * Experienced and attentive guide **Recommendations** * Book your ride in advance, especially if you are traveling in peak season. * Wear comfortable clothing suitable for walking. * Don't forget your sunscreen and your hat. **Global mark** 5 out of 5 stars

Good for novice riders - I went with my husband, who has not ridden much at all, whereas I am experienced. The horses we were given, Sam and Luna, were fail-safe ones who have been doing the trekking job for a long time. This was perfect for my husband but quite boring for me, although I just felt sorry for the horses doing yet another trek. We had one trot near the start, and then it was walking all the rest of the 2 hour excursion. The ground is quite rocky, but there were other tracks we went on that were more than suitable for trotting. At the start we were given the horses name briefly and assisted with mounting. Sam was pretty underweight with saddle sitting astride his prominent back bone. Luna had an extremely thick coat. Both were very sure footed. It was really nice being out in the countryside on horseback. The views were amazing. Very friendly staff and we were joined by a lovely livery lady who chatted away for most of the ride. Both her horse and the trek leaders horse were in great condition carrying ample weight. Good place to go for inexperienced riders with nice safe horses. I had slight concern re body condition of some of the horses at the stables but I have to remember there are different welfare standards in different countries. We both did enjoy the excursion and my husband did really well and rode nice and relaxed.

Nice calm hack - Lovely area and lovely views, we had a hour long hack. Friendly staff and a lot of horses there. It was only me and my partner on our ride.

Was ok - I had booked directly through the website and had a very nice WhatsApp contact. I had asked for a ride just for me plus guide. No problem was told. A pickup at the hotel was not necessary, but would have been possible. The horses were in great condition, very sweet and chilled. Despite the strong wind, everyone remained totally calm. Unfortunately, we were then traveling in a group of 4 people. Our guide seems to care little about Touris, she only talked to one who has her own horse in the stable. The ride was not bad, although the rider in front of me was so slow that sometimes my horse didn't even know how to go. I do not know if I would book again as I was very disappointed.was that I could not ride alone.

An ok experience - We went for the 2 hour package and the experience was ok. We booked as a couple and when we got there, we realised that we will be part of a group. Being part of a group did not bother us however the guide spent all the time in the front speaking with someone that was local and me and my wife were at the very back trying to keep up with the group (our horses were a bit lazy). The worst part is that although they knew my wife never went horseback riding before, when she struggled to go down a slope all the guide did is shout directions from afar. The ride itself is nice with great views.

Horses are in a catastrophic condition - Catastrophic ride, only once in two hours they cantered, the rest only walked, horses look catastrophic, super thin, even though I had given my weight (80kg) I still got a super small horse. I specifically asked again but they said it was no problem. My friend's horse went lame after 1 hour. Never again! The guide's horse looked very well fed and well muscled, so there seems to be a two-class society of good and "tourist" horses, what a shame

Not the promised excursion - What you read is not what you get. So my advise, don’t book this trip. What we get was one hour ride in stap. Nothing else. No Barbaceu, no 4 hours excursion. Nothing. You come there. They put you on the horse, they even don’t tell you the name nothing. And the service of Viator: they gave us a reduction of 50%. While we only get 25% of our excursion in time.
