Additional Information

Troia, formerly known as ancient Aece and a Roman city on the Appian-Trajan Way, is waiting to be discovered. Our tour will guide you through the historic city center, where you’ll be treated to breathtaking views of the Dauni mountains and the spectacular Cathedral, one of Puglia’s finest.

Your journey through the city’s heart will include visits to the Church of St. Vincent the Martyr and Basilica of St. Basil and St. Francis, where you’ll explore Baroque art mastery. Major palaces such as the Palace of the Princes D’Avalos, Palazzo Varo, and Palazzo Siliceo will also be on our itinerary.

The tour concludes with an exploration of the Cathedral dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary of the Assumption, a remarkable twelfth-century architecture designed in the Apulian Romanesque style.

Finally, for your palates, we’ll taste the iconic ‘Passionata’ cake at the conclusion of the tour. Crafted by the Casoli pastry chefs, this Pugliese specialty features the heart of three types of local ricotta - from cow, sheep, and buffalo, ensconced in Apulian almonds and offered in a variety of flavors. Once you’ve tasted it, you’d certainly want to revisit Troia just to relish it once more.
