Visit the world’s first beer fountain, located in Žalec, the capital of the Green Gold Valley, where hops have been cultivated since the 13th century. In Žalec, you can also explore the Hop Growing Museum, which showcases tools from the 13th to the 21st century used in the process of growing and harvesting hops, and learn all about how beer is made. And of course, we will visit the first beer fountain in the world, where you can sample seven different types of beer crafted by Slovenian breweries.

Beer Fountain is worth the stop - The beer fountain experience was most enjoyable. I thought there was going to be a single beer flowing fountain of some kind. Rather, there was a series of individual retracting beer automatic computer generated dispensers at a nice town garden area to enjoy. The beer dispensers retracted and automatically filled your glass like something from a Bond movie. Were comfortable rocking chairs to sit nearby & picnic tables. Quite a few locals visiting also. We had a group of afternoon Slovenian cyclists sampling the beers after their rides were complete. Well worth a visit
