Thrill with the breathtaking view of Tromso from the Fjellheisen cable car and see the magnitude of the city of Tromson - It can't be snowy on a day, otherwise the cable car won't work. These are things inherent to our will but it depends on nature Several friends were there and couldn't get on the cable car. Choose the ideal time at the end of February and beginning of March when snowfall is rare The view is unmissable, but be prepared because the cold is intense there Enjoy a hot chocolate in a little bar located on the cable car And enjoy an unforgettable experience

Room with a view!! - Just a short walk over the bridge from town, no need for a planned excursion, its easy to get to and easy to use, it’s very well staffed. Stunning views from the top of the whole island, even better on a clear day as the broader views are incredible. Its exposed and chilly at the top so make sure you wrap up! Nice cafe at the top though where you can grab a coffee, cake or a beer although you can just sit and wait in warmth and comfort.

We really enjoyed getting... - We really enjoyed getting to know our tour guide, who was local to Tromso and very well-traveled. It made the experience much more personal and interesting than if we had just gone up the cable car by ourselves.

Waste of money- no value add of having a guide. - Waste of money- would have been better to just buy the tickets and go for the cable car ride ourselves for 1/4th or less. The “guide” at first was only speaking to the driver and hardly spoke unless we asked questions . She gave no information on the city as explained in the tour description. She didn’t even help wait in queue to get a good spot on the cable car or help with small things like taking a photo of us ( when we asked she was grumbling- hurry up, it’s cold!), walking on the snow(most guides hold out a hand or offer direction). She was very awkward throughout and just like a third person sitting with us- but hardly talking unless we started conversation. Had no interesting information to offer either . Therefore we cut the trip short citing it was too cold to enjoy the summit- but we were just disappointed. Had we just paid for the cable car and walked or taken the bus to the start point we would have enjoyed better for far less money. Waste!
