Tromsdalen - Join us for an ethical hike and help repair the damage done to the trails.
Together we’ll take the bus to the cable cart and travel to Fløya, a local mountain with stunning views over Tromsø region. We’ll then hike a local trail and map out any incorrect cairns that incorrectly mark the trail. Human made cairns cause a lot of confusion and result in hiker getting lost as well as towards habitat loss.
Joining this activity means you will become a citizen scientist and help map out the correct cairns, remove incorrect cairns, build new trail markers and help towards educating other travellers and locals alike about the dangers of randomly creating cairns in nature.
This hike takes place on a local mountain and includes all required equipment and transportation. Wherever possible we will travel by public transport. Once we’ve finished mapping and hiking, we’ll take a break and enjoy our snacks and hot drinks.
