Embracing the Arctic’s Icy Embrace
Tromsø, a city nestled in the heart of Norway’s Arctic wilderness, is not for the faint-hearted. This weekend, the weather gods have conspired to present a formidable challenge: a relentless mix of rain and snow, gusty winds, and bone-chilling temperatures. Yet, for those who dare to venture into this frozen realm, the rewards are unparalleled.
On January 18th, as the city is cloaked in a thick blanket of snow, the adventurous can embark on the Arctic Ice Floating experience. Available in the morning, afternoon, and evening, this activity offers a rare opportunity to float in the icy waters of the Arctic Ocean, clad in a warm survival suit. The experience is both exhilarating and humbling, as you learn to navigate the frigid waters under the guidance of certified instructors. The highlight of the evening tours is the chance to witness the ethereal Northern Lights, a spectacle that transforms the sky into a canvas of vibrant colors.
Floating in polar water - It was a very pleasant experience, with my son we enjoyed loads, put on the suits, float in the water, experience what a survival would be like in the water, get into a lifeboat, launch from the dock and then enjoy hot drinks with cookies and a pair of snacks. Very warm Attention and punctual for hotel pickup. I recommend it.

Surviving the Elements
Survival in Tromsø’s harsh winter conditions requires more than just warm clothing. It demands a spirit of adventure and a willingness to embrace the unknown.
