Worth it in every way! - After very low chances of being able to see the lights, we went out to a good location and were able to see the northern lights! It was a very pleasant boat ride and our host Tobias did an amazing job! A+++ 100% recommended!!

Evan was a super host. - A very memorable evening with northern lights on a beautiful boat with the most entertaining host. Evan could easily be a top US late night comedian. He made us laugh the entire evening Plus he called us up on deck to see the lights in the appropriate time and explained how to take good photos of the aurora. No compliments will do him justice.
The entire crew were pleasant. Food was good but in my opinion was not enough. Main course was a soup and it was lukewarm and the starter was small. I think food portions should be more substantial. Overall we had a great time and we have lots of good northern lights photo. Recommended

Good activity - Nice cruise. Very modern and well maintained. The staff were informative and polite. Too bad it was an extremely clouded night and we couldn't see the lights. It even snowed few hours later

Best trip of the week! - 7 reviews i am shocked. This was the best adventure the entire week chasing the Auroras. The crew Fred & Lucas were very knowledgeable about the area, history and the auroras and th Polar Circle. The boat is panoramic and many decks to enjoy the fjord and they knew where ti find the aurora. Easy ride, pleasant and even served a warm soup. Id take this every night to chase the lights. If i would change anything is little longer ride during the aurora..it was high chances for several more hours and please serve some bread with soup! Yum. Thanks for a great experience!

All in all, a smooth cruise with a great view! - This was a LOT of fun! The ride was smooth, the soup was really good, and it was nice to learn a little bit about the history of Norway and factors behind the northern lights. I will say, don’t do this cruise specifically looking for the northern lights. There are a lot of factors at play, so they’re not guaranteed.

Basic cruise despite good guides... It's you and your luck to see the northern lights - Seemed like a no regret move to take this experience
But here, no one will chase the northern lights for you
For the 3 1/2 hours of the cruise, we made rounds in the harbour... if the clouds had not dissipated a bit, if would have just been a normal cruise
I had hoped for the captain and his team to chase the northern lights, try to go to some place with less clouds... but it didn't seem to be part of their mission
The guides though were very good

A bit hit and miss with a dinner cruise chasing the northern lights - I chose to do the dinner cruise as another way to try and see the northern lights. The whole experience lasted about 3-4 hours and I had expected us to go into areas where there was less artificial light, but actually this was a trip along the coast side of Tromso so there was always some light from the towns. We did not see the northern lights at all until the last 15 minutes as we arrived back into Tromso. That was fantastic of course but I would have thought that sticking to areas where there was man-made lights would reduce the chances of seeing the lights.
The food was advertised as Scandinavian which I was keen to sample. However I was caught by surprise when the main course was lukewarm cod - not hot, not cold - but tepid. The crew tried to tell that that was how it was supposed to be served but I couldn’t eat it. The rest was good.
There were presentations by the various crew members. The lead guy was Ivan and he was excellent, brought high energy to the audience and entertained. There was one member that gave a 5-10 minute scientific explanation of the northern lights which was good. But there was one member that droned on for about 20+ minutes about his personal experiences of flora and fauna in the area. It did suck the energy out of the room so didn’t love that. I was there for fun, not a lecture.
Overall a pretty good experience but there were definitely ways in which it could have been improved.

Good way to wait for the NL only when the prediction is good. - A comfortable way to view the northern lights while you wait in the well heated cabins. Only downside is that the light needs to be out in the sky over the exact route the boat takes, so good to book with the prediction checked. We had a no show. None the less, if u have nothing else for the night you can relax in the boat. We got bored after a while cuz no lights and once it is dark there is nothing to see outside and no entertainment on board either. They serve you a bowl of warm soup.

A pity. - We had already done other avec Brim explorers excursions and it had been perfect, so we decided to do this one too.
The boat left port 45minutes later than planned, and then returned at the scheduled time. So we lost almost an hour visiting. I think the price is a little sad... On top of that, the boat didn’t remove the Tromsø area, knowing it was cloudy in that area so we didn’t see any aurora. Too bad.

Avoid for northern lights. Book only for watching TROMSO in night from the boat - This is not a trip for Northern Lights. You will be very very lucky to see the Lights on this trip. Do this only if you want to see Trmoso in the night from the boat. Not for northern lights.
The staff was good and humorous but the main purpose is defeated
