Fun day with the dogs! - Lucked out into a reservation when someone else canceled - and thanking my lucky stars for that! What an enjoyable day with the dogs. The sledding was really fun - albeit maybe not as fast/thrilling as I expected, but that's probably due to my own unfounded expectations. But it was a splendid tour through the Arctic wilderness, and offered stunning views of the fjord and mountains. We did the guided tour (as opposed to the self-drive) because that's all that was available but it was probably for the best because self drive likely would've been more challenging.
Afterwards, playing with/cuddling with the pups was equally if not even more gratifying. It's apparent they truly care for and treat the dogs well, which is great to see. I loved learning about how they rent the dogs out for the summer when it's off-season for sledding, giving the dogs a chance to be out and active with a family. And better yet, that the dogs are often adopted by these families when they retire!
Book well in advance cause this sells out early!

Great winter scape husky ride. - We came for a true winter experience from Australia and that is what we got. It was freezing! We did the guided husky ride and our musher was from New Zealand, such a small world. We were very lucky as it started snowing, very lightly which had not happened for some time with the ground being described as being like bob sledding.
Our trip around with the very happy dogs was great fun and was followed up with some history and how the dogs spend their lives by our guide. Overall certainly a must do especially for those from not so wintery climates.

Brilliant fun-a must do experience - we were collected from outside the Radisson hotel, bang on time, for a 40 minute coach trip to the centre. our host Max was super enthusiastic and informative. we got dressed into our boots and insulated overalls then it was straight onto the sledge for our 7km ride with a team of 10 huskies. our 'Musher' Sarah (from New Zealand) was so friendly and informative about the dogs, their training , welfare and individual personalities. the ride lasted about 40 minutes and we took in some great scenery. once back at camp we had a tour of the 'teenage dogs' kennels (boundless enthusiasm), then we were free to meet all the working dogs-all of them loved a good cuddle and ear rub. we had as much time as we wanted. Then it was into a shepherds hut with a roaring fire for lunch-Reindeer soup and bread with hot drinks, chocolate cake for dessert. the whole experience lasted 4 hours and it was great to see the Huskies so well loved and looked after. Highly Recommended

If you're in Tromsø, you have to do this. - I did the Husky Hike and Puppy Visit and walked Måne.
It was the best thing I did during my time I'm Norway. Måne is amazing and is great with listening. The lunch was beautiful, and the hot chocolate was the best I've ever tasted.
Would definitely visit the Villmarkssenter the next time I am in Tromsø.

Super fun! - This was definitely one of the highlights of our stay in Tromso! The experience started with a walk through a beautiful area with some incredibly energetic dogs and continued with a puppy encounter with the most friendly and curious puppies imaginable. Whether you're a dog lover or just looking for a fun outdoor activity, this is an incredibly fun experience and a great off-season alternative to dog sledding!

Definitely recommend if you love dogs - Great experience!! Large bus picked us up at the Radisson Blu hotel in Tromso. Approx 30 min comfortable bus ride to the Sled Dog residence. We were given boots and rain suits which were welcomed since it was cool and rainy. They did a great job of keeping us dry for our dog hike.
The dogs were quite thrilled to see us as they knew they were going out on a hike. They were quite vocal which seems typical of sled dogs (the dogs' excitement and vocalness was surprising the first time I heard it when I did a sled dog experience in Canada)!! My dogs back home get excited when they want to go for a walk or ride but to a lesser extent. It was enjoyable to hear them get so pumped up. I would have enjoyed a longer hike in retrospect but then again I could have hung out there all day with the dogs! If I were to go back to Tromso I would reach out to see if they offered a longer excursion. After the dog hike, we got to hang out with the puppies for a bit and then had time to spend with the other adult sled dogs in their area. The adult area was free from dog feces which showed staff tended to the dogs. The dogs had water and were healthy appearing. The guides were approachable and allowed for extra Q/A time during our meal. They look after the dogs and explained if a dog is getting a bit long in the teeth or injured, or less interested in sledding they look to adopt out the dogs. The guides mentioned one person started their adoption program during covid. From there it grew and continues to this day. Lunch was pleasant - Norwegian stew and coffee/tea in a warm building. Overall I definitely enjoyed this excursion and would recommend as an off season alternative when dog sledding isn't an option.

Great tour ! - 2h snow-shoe hike through unspoilt wilderness. Group slightly on the large side (18 guests, but then this is their high-season and everything is pretty solidly booked). 4 dogs being shared amongst all those who whish to be dragged along by a very friendly husky attached to a harness around your waist. Delicious cookies and hot drinks at the halfway point, we were lucky and saw moose cow with calf. Back at camp opportunity to learn more about the dogs, hot drinks and chocolate around a fire in a tent, then getting to cuddle with some 3 month old puppies. That is a proper "awww - cute" moment !
Overall 9 out of 10 for the experience. Weather dependent though - we had 2 feet of snow, mostly clear skies and a crisp -10°. No wind, otherwise it could have gotten a tad chilly during the hike. Tour departed around 11 a.m. so we had some daylight to admire the spectacular scenery.

CHOOSE ANOTHER COMPANY!! - THIS COMPANY IDOES NOT CARE ABOUT ITS CLIENTS!!. $500 CDN DOWN THE DRAIN! Let’s face it when you’re travelling unexpected things can happen such as illness etc. You expect that companies will have integrity and empathy for issues that are out of your control. In our case our flight was cancelled a day before we were to fly and we had to book an earlier flight to make our international connection. It meant we were unable to do our dog sledding trip. We notified the company as soon as we knew to allow them to fill our two spots. On top of our disappointment on missing an experience we were looking forward to, we were offered no compromise for the full payment we had, in good faith, paid for the whole outing months in advance. We understand that it’s not reasonable for people to simply cancel at the last minute for no reason but we do feel that there are circumstances where allowances should be made. Despite our explanations they simply said their policy is 48 hours cancellation and we had been short of that. No consideration for our circumstances. No compromise or discussion. They’ve got your money and too bad for you if something goes awry. Our advise is find a company that has a more reasonable policy. We’ve talked to a few people since that had a 24 hour cancellation for example or didn’t require full payment upfront. Once these guys have your money you’re not getting it back. Also we spoke to many people whose sledding was cancelled the day before last minute so be aware that something might come up for them where they have to cancel you but it doesn’t work the other way round!
