Before you step into our cozy Mercedes 4x4 van, our expert guides scout the evening’s weather, space, and road conditions to select the perfect viewing location.
Leaving Tromsø behind, we’ll journey through the stunning Arctic landscape. At our destination, unwind by a crackling fire with hot beverages, cookies, and traditional Norwegian grilled pølse i brød (sausage) hot dogs. Our guide will share fascinating stories and insights about the Aurora and Northern Norway, answering any questions you have.
When the Northern Lights appear, our guides will capture beautiful portrait photos of you beneath the vibrant sky. A timelapse video will document your evening under the Arctic stars, even if the Aurora is elusive.

Amazing 👏 - Wow!! The weather was very kind and we got a show that I was never expecting... it was spectacular.
That said, the weather is unpredictable, but what was also great was the team that runs this tour company.
Can't fault them, communication is great, they are both friendly and personable. I would 100% recommend them to anyone.

Magical evening, amazing hosts. - We had an amazing northern lights adventure with Ollie and Ryan with Northbound. They were fun, professional and went out of their way to make sure we experienced the Northern lights- we saw an amazing show, at a beautiful location in Norway. One of the reasons I selected this tour was for the small group size, in a comfortable vehicle (it was!), and the photography they showcased on their site. Ryan did a wonderful job of getting photos and asking for any specific requests. He showed us his time lapse at the end of the evening and it was simply beautiful. Such great memories, you will certainly not regret booking!!!

Welcoming, comfortable, knowledgeable, so helpful guys with Oli and Ryan. - From the very beginning, it was clear Oli and Ryan were laid back, intuitive of the needs of the group, and we were in good hands. Like many people who reviewed this tour before, just going on a trip in the winter, to wherever they wanted to take us was going to be fun, interesting and worth every minute, lights or no lights! Ryan was totally a professional photographer and Oli was just as really helpful with cameras, composition, trouble shooting and very organised and available with the firepit, sausages, cocoa and helping me get up out of the snow every time I needed him!

If you don’t book with northbound tours what are ya bloody doing mate? - Oli and Ryan were amazing tour guides and really taught us how to properly read forecast charts for northern lights. They also helped us with our camera settings so we could take our own pictures.
My only gripe is that these two need more days off. They tell us stories about how their lives are setup and if I were them I’d be exhausted! Take a day off mates!
If you’re looking to have a great time trying to see the northern lights, look no further than with Northbound tours!

Absolutely amazing! - Oli and Ryan are probably the best that Norway has imported over the last decade. :) These guys are absolutely amazing and fun to talk to. They are running tours with max 8 ppl and it feels like you are doing a tour with friends even though you just have met 5 min ago. As the weather forecast was not that promising that day, we were given the option if we still want to go, otherwise we would have been refunded. I'm really glad that we still went out with them as it turned out to be an amazing night. Not only because we were able to see the lights but also because the group was amazing and we were laughing so hard around the campfire. As we did the tour on the last evening in Tromso, we had our personal happy ending for our vacation. ;-)
This experience is definetely something we will never forget. Thank you Oli & Ryan and hopefully, we see you again. :)

The only way to see the Northern Lights - It was my first time in Norway and i was travelling solo to see the northern lights, Oli and Ryan provided an incredible experience!
We were invited to meet the team at the meeting spot conveniently situated close to the city center. Oli greeted us with a warm and enthusiastic manner, we jumped in the Northbound van which was very comfy with adjustable climate and complimentary water. Leaving the city we took a journey out to a beautiful spot to set up to enjoy the lights. Oli's knowledge was very impressive as he told us all about the lights on the journey answering questions and involving us all in the conversations. As a solo traveler this made conversing with others in the group a lot easier.
We were all given snow suits which were a really impressive quality and kept me toasty throughout. A fire was set up in the snow with seat set around it, they continued to answer questions and alert us to good lights that were incoming throughout the knowledge of the team was exceptional. Ryan took us all off to get some pictures and as someone who is not skilled in photography these were incredible. We all got some hotdogs from the fire halfway through which was a treat!

Unforgettable Adventure - Luckily ours was a small pretty manageable group. Our safety and concerns were always the number one priority which was really comforting. We were in good hands. These guys are extremely knowledgeable and shared a lot of great tips and info along the way. They are lucky to be able to make a living doing something they are so clearly passionate about. Getting all the professional photos from them at the end was a nice bonus. Excellent choice for northern light viewing.

Magical - Oli and Ryan from Northbound were absolutely awesome and delivered a truly great experience. Their intent is to treat a tour as if taking friends out to see the northern lights and this is exactly what it felt like even at the end of a long hard season. They have such passion for what they do and it shines out as brightly as the aurora did at one of their favourite locations on the fjord. When in Tromso, Northbound is who you must go with to experience the northern lights.

Northern Lights with Northbound.no - Absolutely hands down the best Northern Lights experience you can have spending an evening with Oli and Ryan.
Ryan's attention to detail with photography and how to stand resulted in amazing photos. You receive so many photos and a time lapse plus they are happy to help with camera and phone settings.
You meet as strangers but leave as friends as they are both down to earth genuine guys who are passionate and knowledgeable about the Northern Lights.

Professional and adorable - A wonderful evening. Oli passed on his passion! He went to great lengths to ensure that we were well and enjoyed very pleasant conditions. Thanks to his obstinacy and professionalism, we saw beautiful aurora borealis and had a very nice night. Thank you 1000x for this dream fulfilled!
