Spotting the Northern Lights - The Pukka Team is the friendliest, most helpful and knowledgable people that you can get. They gave us excellent information on the northern lights and was skillful enough to help us to eventually see them although it was very cloudy.
They knew when and where the clouds would lift so that we could witness the miracle.
I do reccomend them for all the activities, we have done a lit of them!
Thankyou to you all!

Realized dream - I had the opportunity to go on some tours with Pukka in March, where I had the opportunity to witness the Northern Lights.
I would like to thank Maria, and all the guides: Lisa, Raul, Nico, Djoren (I don't know if that's how he spells it haha) and others I didn't remember.

no luck - Staff is highly friendly and kind.
Unfortunately for us, we weren’t lucky enough to see the northern lights in any of the 2 tours we hired with that purpose (this was one of those). At the very beginning of both activities the company recognized the weather challenge (both days were 100% cloud coverage), rather than cancel the activity they decided to carry on with it.
Of course, we (and the whole group) didn't get to see any 'northern lights'.
Understanding the nature of the activity some companies, although rarely offer a refund, are kind to give "another free ride" in compensation (e.g. a voucher).
Despite its extreme odds of unsuccessful result due to the weather, Pukka wouldn't cancel the activity (unless for safety reasons as e.g. avalanches) neither has any compensation scheme as they tell "many times we are able to see activity with cover sky, if we are lucky to find a gap".
It seems of an abuse of the frenzy situation, people book in advance facing the fear of no tours availability and missing the northern lights.
A lesson learned: it is tricky, but suggestion is to try to see the weather forecast 1-3 days ahead and try your luck by booking just then. Otherwise the likelihood of wasting your money is very high.

Not a good experience for me unfortunately - The guide did not seem to really search for clear skies & the NL. We went to the beach & had a lovely campfire, but stayed there. It was so disappointing. It was an overcast night & we had some rain, but I heard of another tour that went inland because of the conditions around Tromso & said the lights were great.
Also some companies drop you off at your hotel in the city. This one did not.
I do not enjoy walking alone for a km or so at 2 or 3 am to get to my accommodation.
I was told it was because we had to return the thermal suits, however , both companies used thermal suits. The other company dropped people off at respective hotels.
It was very much appreciated.

No bathroom for eight hours or more - I will start with the positive - the staff are all very nice. We didn't see any lights that night but that is no one's fault. Where I experienced a problem is that you are never told that you will be out for eight hours with no restroom anywhere near.
On this particular night, the bus finally parked near a camping area but right outside the door was all ice - very slippery and dangerous. The tour mentions a "Home-cooked warm meal made by local chef". What they offered was a choice of one of three MREs - meals in a bag that the military uses. The other complaint I had is 'comfortable seating' on the mini bus. Those seats are smaller than airplane seats which are ridiculously small. Just being trapped for eight hours unable to get to a proper restroom would keep me from recommending this tour. Find a tour with a bigger bus that has an onboard restroom.

Expensive for what it is - (The photos I posted here are the photos taken from the guide of Pukka Tracels)
The experience in general was ok, I saw the northen Lights and the guide was nice and friendly (Raul), he was always asking if we wanted hot drinks, or if we were hungry, he also was taking pictures, he was doing everything, he even make the fire, give us the suits, everything. But at the same time is too much work for only 1 person , so he didnt took pictures to the whole group. Is not his fault, but I think if the tour is that expensive as it is, they should sent at least 2 people, 1 to take pictures, and the other for the logistic of the fire, food and drinks. I was expenting more for the pictures , because to be honest I payed this expensive tour for the espectacular photos as they offer. And if I would not realice that he was taking pictures and ask him for a picture, he wouldn't have take pictures of me. I think only 3 or 4 people of 15 got a pictures with the northem lights, and they weren't as espectacar as they offer or the put on the website.
The spot where we saw the northem light was full of people, full of others tours, at least 3 big more groups, and they place close, so if you are looking for a more private experience this is not your tour, because they are talking and you feel like in the city, it kill the magic of the experience.
The drives was rude. He offer us to drive us home after pick up our shoes, but he ask you in a demanding unfriendly way to pay him in cash to drive you to your hotel, bescause of course is not part of the tour, but he was not nice at all, he presure me and i finsih my tour with bad taste. Finally i come back to my hotel walking of course.
For that expensive tour they should at least drive us home , specially because is cold and you arrive really late in the night.
Also the driver on the middle of the tour interrupt the guide from his job giving his phone so the guide can tell to the friends of the driver where is the best spot to see the northem lights, the guide Raul was super professional and said he has no time for that and he is working.
Raul the best guide, he explaing every step he made, friendly and conaider guy.
They should fire the driver or warn him to change his rude attitude

Long disappointing experience - Overall a disappointing long evening. The circumstances were pretty bad to begin with, as the weather was poor, heavy cloud cover all over Tromso and the surrounding area. Of course the company is not to be blamed for it. However, our guide was too optimistic that we're going to have decent chances at the coast, with possible breaks in the clouds and even 60-70% clear skies. No guarantee of course but still too optimistic as it turned out and according to forecast apps. Would have preferred an honest and realistic assessment of the situation and maybe the option to leave the tour and get a refund or give it a try anyway. We ended up driving around for a while towards the coast and setting camp at a beach and hope for the best. Guide said he has good news and sky looks like is clearing but nothing really changed and clouds were clearly covering the whole sky. We had a campfire, hot chocolate, food and marshmallows and all that was good but the evening was just dragging hoping the weather would change. I think in the end everyone was just tired. The website says that driving towards Finland is possible if the weather is bad and maybe that would have been a better option (eventually there were many sightings reported past the Finnish border that night from people that went on tours with 3 different companies). Obviously the weather was not their fault, but the assessment of the situation could be better. They tried to compensate with rest of the amenities, but not enough really. Often we were just left alone and not real info regarding the lights or camera settings were given during the tour.

Bad - The staff was great very friendly, but the person who created this trip not so good. When they said mini bus they were not joking , it was so small specially with everyone wearing winter gear. So , if you suffer from claustrophobia this is not for you. Then we were sequestered on this tiny vehicle for 8 hrs. with no bathroom stops , they expect people to just drop your pants and go in the where they park the van. Not only is cold but also slippery since they park on full ice patch. Then it comes the meal prepared by a local chef, that is a joke they were MRE . I thought I was on survivor. This is not worth the price and the suffering.

Disappointing experience trying to “chase” - We experienced this northern light chase in March 2024. The basecamp is nice but that’s about it. We were hoping to get some context and information on what will happen during the experience but we were just told which area we would be going to and that’s it. Both our guide and driver were nice and polite but they didn’t seem to be excited at all. I think customers who are going for such experiences and have spent thousands of dollars traveling to Tromso would expect some excitement from their guides to feed off from but in our case there was nothing! We didn’t get to see the northern lights because of weather conditions which was a bummer but during the initial part of our tour there were clear skies and it didn’t seem like the guide and the driver tried to make more efforts to go to different spots. It seemed like the focus was more on the bonfire and dinner rather than what can we do to see the lights. All in all very disappointing!

Be careful! - Beware of the company! We were 9 people and we paid quite a bit because of a mistake by the companies and contracting with a subsidiary company, we arrived at the wrong destination and had to pay twice for the same attraction.
What's worse is that the company took the money and is not willing to return it
