• Tromsø - Begin your journey at the Prostneset bus terminal and enjoy a scenic 25-minute bus ride along Tromsø’s beautiful coast to reach the Sami camp, where reindeer and our guides will be ready to welcome you.
• Tromsø Arctic Reindeer - Embark on your Sami adventure by hand-feeding a herd of 300 reindeer, then step into the gamme for a delicious traditional meal cooked over an open fire. Conclude your day by gathering around the fire to listen to joiking (songs), and learn about Sami history and stories.
• Tromsø - Return to the city center. The bus will drop you off at the same location where you initially met our guides.

For ages, the Sami and their reindeer have inhabited and worked this territory, just recently opening their lives to visitors. At their encampment, you’ll have the opportunity to interact with a group of nearly 300 wild reindeer, some of whom will come close enough to eat from your hand. Following your encounter with the reindeer, you’ll be welcomed into a warm, candlelit traditional Sami hut known as a gamme for hot beverages and a serving of bidos, a typical Sami stew often served at weddings and other notable events, cooked directly on the open flame.

Post-lunch, you’ll be ushered into a lavvu (a Sami tent) to sit by the fire and hear tales of Sami culture and the realities of life as a reindeer herdsman. Your Sami host will also treat you to a rendition of a joik, a traditional form of Sami song.
