Arctic Landscapes is a road trip along the coast of Tromsø that supports scientific research. On this journey, you’ll explore stunning locations, capture incredible photos, and savor homemade food during a picnic in the Arctic. Plus, you’ll be contributing as a citizen scientist! Join us for a countryside adventure in Tromsø and make a positive difference in our local community and ecosystems!
- We encourage you to provide your email address to be able to receive pictures after the tour
- When exceptional situations arise (e.g. weather cancellations) it is important to reach you. Make sure you provide your contact on the road (phone number + correct country code)
- The place where you will be staying at (Hotel, Air BnB or other)
- Please advise any specific dietary requirements at time of booking as well as medical condition if needed
- Operates in all weather conditions, please dress appropriately.

Awestruck with scenery and an awesome experience - We went to Grøtfjord and such amazing views, pristine beach, waterfall and the snow covered mountains. Our guide Gerard was so knowledgeable and talked us through the details of the places al through the tour! He took the best pictures and had given us a memories to cherish forever!

Unforgettable Adventure with an Exceptional Guide! - We had an absolutely fantastic experience with our guide, Henrik! He was exceptionally professional, incredibly knowledgeable about the area, and truly embodied the warmth and expertise of a local guide. We couldn’t have asked for a better person to show us around, and we were thrilled with the entire experience.
Initially, we booked a snowshoeing tour, but due to unfavorable weather conditions, it was switched to a sightseeing tour. While this could have been a disappointing change of plans, Henrik went above and beyond to ensure we were happy, entertained, and fully engaged throughout the trip.
Our destination was the picturesque Sommarøy, and Henrik took us there via a scenic route, where we were fortunate enough to spot reindeer, eagles, and even a moose! Seeing all three felt like an incredible stroke of luck, and Henrik’s sharp eye and local insight made it possible.
Though the weather was a bit challenging during parts of the journey and at Sommarøy, it cleared up just enough for us to enjoy lunch at a stunning picnic spot. Once again, Henrik worked tirelessly to make the experience as memorable and valuable as possible.
I would 100% recommend this tour and would love to book another trip with Henrik in the future. His dedication and passion for sharing the beauty of the region made this an unforgettable adventure!

Beautiful arctic landscapes - Honestly one of the best tours I have done. The arctic landscape was unbelievable, I think I had something in mind and my expectations were 100% fulfilled. We arrived from Tromsø to Sommarøy and it was stunning. Also our guide Henrik was extremely good and prepared, he explained us a lot of interesting things and replied to all my (many) questions. Definitely recommend this tour!

Great time off the crowded tracks... and beautiful landscapes - Our guide was great for conversation, sightseeing and pictures
After intense days with whale watching and nights with northern lights hunting, we tried this much shorter excursion and off track excursion which was clsoe to Tromso
Landscapes were great from sandy beaches to fjords and our guide sent us VERY NICE pictures of use in different settings which greatly added to the character of this experience

Perfect Introduction To Arctic Landscape - This tour is an excellent way to experience the stunning arctic Norwegian landscape in an easy and very accessible manner. The stops and views were all spectacular, and our guide Evgeni knowledgeable, flexible, helpful and fun! We spotted reindeer on a couple of occasions, and had ample time in a beautiful, gleaming white beach at Grøtfjord. Our last stop, the Bryggejentene café at Ersfjordbotn is not only a place with fantastic views of the fjord, but also houses an utterly charming homeware and interiors boutique.

An excellent experience - This was a small-group tour, just seven participants and totally worth the expenditure. Our guide, Ellie, was excellent: personable, knowledgeable, enthusiastic and a safe driver. Ellie had a choice of spots where she could stop and selected them based on weather conditions and the interest of each person in the group. We enjoyed spectacular views from the best vantage points, reindeer spotting, citizen science and a home-made lunch on an arctic beach in bright sunshine. A well-earned five stars!

An incredible tour! - It was an amazing tour! Evgeni drove us to the highlights surrounding Tromsø and the islan of Kvaløya. We got to see beautiful Fjords, take amazing pictures and enjoy an delicious lunch provided by Wandering Owl on a rocky beach with good weather! I would highly recommend this experience in the summer too, one gets to see beautiful scenery and the surrounding nature :) I will be happy to do it again!

Fantastic fjord exploration and surroundings of Tromso - What a lovely experience! Ellie, our tour guide, was outstanding and really knowleadgeable, providing us with lots of insights and excellent hospitality on this tour. We enjoyed every minute of it and can highly recommend Wandering Owl. Choosing a tour provider is never easy, but with Ellie you can't go wrong. Tromso and its surrounding landscapes are simply breathtaking and stunning.

Summer in tromso - We enojyed a fantastic nature tour, led by an exceptional guide who brought the experience to life. The Evgeni s deep knowledge of the local flora and fauna, coupled with their passion for the environment, made the journey both educational and enchanting. We explored stunning landscapes, spotted diverse wildlife, and learned fascinating details about the ecosystem. Recomended to every nature lover.

Great way of discovering the area around Tromso - It was nice to have Evgeni as our guide. He showed us many nice places where we could take beautiful pictures of for instance fjords. We also had the luck to see some reindeers. A big advantage to be guided by a local. :)
