Tromso - This is a small-group, outdoor tour tailored especially to explore the Arctic nature while you are hunting for the Northern Lights. The main purpose is to give you the best chance of seeing the Aurora Borealis by traveling away from city light pollution. Position yourselves under cloud free skies to experience the wild Arctic nature. You will be picked up by your local guides in the city center and start the tour by heading towards beautiful mountains, fjords, and valleys.
There will be many stops on the way to take photos of the unique and search for the lights. Where your tour goes depends on the weather conditions, sometimes this is as far as to the Finnish and Swedish border to find the right conditions for the lights. Travel in small groups to create a special, cozy atmosphere. This also makes the tour more flexible.
You will be provided with insulated overalls, snacks, and hot drinks. Your guide will take photos on the tour and share them with you after the trip.

Thoroughly recommended - Well I must admit I was very sceptical that we l would see anything at all as the weather in Tromsø was awful, having been raining all day. We were even given the option of having a full refund before the minibus left the meeting point. 5 or 6 people did actually leave at that point. We then drove around two hours towards the border with Finland and thankfully the rain stopped and there were some clear skies. We had some great views of the Northern Lights and some great photos too. The guide Joanna also took a lot of great photos which we have purchased as they were not expensive. It was a long night as we didn’t get back to our ship until 2am but very worthwhile.

Ida is the best - At first we had a little problem for the weather as well they provided us with options and we decided to go on the tour. We had an amazing experience! Besides Ida our guide was very friendly and fun, the driver was also very friendly. Extremely grateful for the reception they have given us in Trømso. Polar Adventures 100000% recommended

Worth every mile of the way! This experience was better than words or even pics could ever say or show. - You can rely on GuideGunnar completely - to take you off the beaten track into the awesome Norwegian wilderness, find the northern lights (even if that means he has to drive hundreds of kilometers, he just doesn’t give up), keep you safe, warm and comfortable and give you the best experience money could ever buy.
DON’T MISS IT!

The Chase is real! - What a chase! Hans Erik worked so hard in challenging conditions to find The Lights! We covered a lot of ground and finally got a couple of views - even in a snowy field. Very educational and knowledgeable- I highly recommend this trip!

Tour 26 September northen lights - fjord fishing - This company is extremely professional and responsible. They are also really friendly. They immediately solved an inconvenience we had and even offered us a replacement free tour the next day if we were unable to see the northern lights that day. A big thank you to Thomas who clearly understands what customer service is all about. Tromso is definetly worth visiting. A memorable time. No doubt one of our favourite times with Iceland. Greetings from Costa Rica

We saw the lights - Our bus driver was great, or tour guide was so-so. I would definitely recommend taking the tour. They are familiar with places where it's safe to park in the dark. Everyone I meet in Tromso that took a tour saw the lights. We went back during the daylight to see our site. Never would have found the spot on our own. Worth every penny.

Unfortunate weather conditions, the guide really tried - Sadly we did not saw the northern lights due to weather conditions. We went up north about 1.30 hours from tromso to Stornes. However the guide Amelia gave interesting facts about the auroras and tried to do her best. They gave us some cookies, hot chocolate and marshmallows.
As seen in the pictures sadly we just sad clouds.

Okay but I wouldn't repeat or recommend - The people who work there are super friendly and really put a lot of steam into the situation. However, the value for money is poor. The price is excessive for the service they offer. They take you to the side of the main route, snacks are chocolate powder with water and packet cookies. They don't guarantee you a lot of photos either. It’s an experience that you could manage yourself by renting a car and you would get much less than 150 usd per person. However, they are very sincere with the Northern Lights forecast and offer you all the money back before leaving for the excursion. Overall the experience was positive but I would not do it again or recommend it

Very poor and a little fishy - We traveled a great distance and was called by the tour operator 3 times to let me know he was going to cancel it for bad weather, but he offered me another tour with another operator not connected through Viator. This seemed a little fishy
