Fantastic tour and great guide! - We visited Tromso for a week, hoping to get to see the Northern lights. The weather hadn’t been very kind to us, with cloudy and snowy days pretty much the whole week. So at first we were a bit worried we wouldn’t get to see any aurora at all but after speaking to our guide, Andrei, he reassured us the weather changes very quickly in Norway and he would do his best for us all to see the Northern Lights. We decided to trust his professional expertise and experience and we were not disappointed. Andrei was a fantastic guide, very friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. He truly went above and beyond, driving us to different places, scanning the sky at all times and being in contact with other tour operators around Tromso to check how the weather was in different areas and checking for solar activity. The weather was really playing against him but he truly worked so hard to find suitable spots for us to enjoy the aurora. He informed us of the plan for the night as we drove off and kept us updated throughout the night regarding any changes. After driving around chasing clear skies, Andrei found a nice spot for us to stop. I had forgotten my tripod and he very kindly lent me one of his, meaning I got to take wonderful shots of the aurora. Andrei also set up two small bonfires for us to keep warm in the cold winter night as we waited for the Northern lights, serving hot drinks and plenty of chocolate cake - which was delicious and much appreciated. It was clear he had a passion for astronomy and photography - two interests I shared with him - and he explained all the science behind the Northern lights to us all. As the solar activity was present but not very strong - something nobody can do anything about - Andrei decided to stay at our spot well over our planned time, at no extra cost, clearly trying to do his best for us to see the aurora as best as we could. He even warmed the minibus up for anyone who preferred waiting inside rather than outside in the cold.
Really great guide and wonderful tour, would highly recommend. Of course, cloudy sky and solar activity are beyond anyone's control, but he truly worked so hard to give us the best possible tour.

Definitely the tour and guide for a Northern Lights Tour - Alan was a fantastic guide and we was also the driver. He really wanted us to be able to see the Northern Lights and he really did his best. His aim was to let you see the Northern Lights and to see it well and to get great pictures. That's the main point of the doing a Northern Lights tour. The weather we had that day wasn't good and based on his experience he tried to find a place where hopefully the weather would change and there would be a gap in the clouds to see the lights. But like any tour there is no guarantee as it depends on Mother Nature. But I could see the effort Alan put in to do his best and help us see the lights. He set up a fire and had tea and coffee to drink with cake. As we waited thankfully the sky opened and there was a lot of activity and we could see the lights dancing :)

Worth the time and effort - Well arranged tour. Tour guide Alex was very informative and did his best in select viewing spots for the aurora. He also made sure we were warm with the fire he lit and also gave us tea and some cake. We were lucky to spot the northern lights even though it was raining earlier throughout the day. Photos were promptly shared within a day. All in all a very good experience!

Wonderful Northern Light by Minibus - On the night of the tour, it was raining lightly, and I thought the chances of seeing the northern light was slim to none. After all, what can you do if mother nature did not allow this to happen?
Our tour guide Alan is knowledgeable of the northern light and know the area well. He did not give up and successfully found a place without rain and have a bit of open sky for us to enjoy the northern light.
The camp fire, chocolate cake and the hot drink really warmed us up in the cold night. This is very thoughtful.
Thank you for the wonderful experience.

Hunting the Aurora Boreal - Amazing view, sometimes difficult to find due to the amount of clouds but the Guide did not give up and we were able to see the dawn very well!
The pictures were amazing!
It's an experience of a lifetime

Guides Worked Hard To Hunt Down The Lights - This was our second northern lights chase during our time in Tromso. I booked it because of the good reviews and I would like to add my stellar review as well. It was a tough night for seeing the aurora because it was snowing, but that didn't deter our guides. They drove our small minibus to Finland to be able to see the lights. We also had a lovely homemade curry soup, hot chocolate and a homemade dessert. We sat around a fire and enjoyed the silence except for the crackling of the logs. The aurora were not as brilliant this night as it was the night before, but they did have some red hues, which was exciting to see. The stars are magnificent. The only place I've seen stars this brilliant was out in the National Parks of the west without light pollution.

Amazing! - Excellent excursion. Even though the chances of seeing The Nothern lights were not great due to the weather, our guide and driver Alan made incredible true! Using various maps, forecasts and apps, he found a suitable spot where we saw nothern light! We stayed there almost 3 hrs and we spotted The Nothern lights repeatedly. It was obvious that he understands his job. In addition, he prepared an interesting talk about The Nothern lights and also a small campfire with cake and hot tea/coffee. On the way back we came across another spot and the spectacle was awesome! I recommend it to everyone for this individual approach.

Alan is the guy! Great tour, amazing lights - Truly incredible! Big thanks to our amazing guide, Alan (I think that's his name! A bearded guy with glasses?). Tromso was super cloudy so he quickly drove us about an hour away and we IMMEDIATELY found clear skies and the aurora. It was a great night and he took a bunch of pictures of us with the northern lights. Such a great and hyper guy! By 11 pm we were back in Tromso happy as a clam. Of course this is nature and he personally didn't "make" anything, but I don't know, Alan had a great vibe and I'm happy he was our guide that night.
There are some other companies that offer tours in bigger buses (about 50 people), which I also booked, but honestly that was a little too much for me. So many people that don't know how to behave, so loud... kinda annoying overall. The mini bus was perfect, or maybe I was just lucky and the 15 people I shared the bus with were just normal, good functioning humans.
Attached one of Alan's pictures!
