- Grotta dello Scheletro - Stop for a swim at the “Cave dello Scheletro,” also known as the “Cave del Cadavere” or “Bianca Grotto.” This cave is located on the border between the Municipality of Tropea and Ricadi, just before Reci beach. The somewhat macabre name comes from the peculiar coloring that occurs when someone enters the cave. Due to a play of reflected lights, the submerged part of the body turns a ghostly white, giving the appearance of a lifeless body. Despite the eerie name, those who venture inside will experience a rush of energy and emotions. It’s a must-visit for swimming enthusiasts.
- Spiaggia di Riaci - Stop and swim in a natural paradise along the coast of the gods. The white beach is dominated by a large tuff rock that hides caves and ravines, while the Caribbean-like sea makes this an unmissable destination. Baia Reci welcomes you with its small promontory at sea, featuring caves perfect for swimming, and a cliff on the right that conceals small natural pools surrounded by Seychelles-style round stones. The sand is very white and grainy with pebbles, and the water deepens quickly. A cliff at the bottom reveals a myriad of fish and marine life, making it a snorkeler’s dream.
- Formicoli Beach - Stop and swim in front of Formicoli Beach, characterized by white sand and clear waters. On the seabed, you can admire the remains of an ancient Roman port, home to many species of fish. It’s an ideal spot for diving enthusiasts.
- Capo Vaticano - Stop at Capo Vaticano under the lighthouse, where beaches and coves offer pure fun for all. The diverse range of beaches in this small area is a natural gift. Also known as the “four seasons” beach due to its mild climate year-round, it is sheltered from currents that could cool the water. The high cliffs protect this wonderful microclimate, making it a paradise for snorkeling and diving enthusiasts.
- Santuario di Santa Maria dell’Isola di Tropea - Stop and swim at one of Tropea’s magical places, near the city’s religious and tourist symbol. The Palombaro cave is an intimate and romantic cove under the rock of the island of Tropea, featuring white sand and turquoise waters. Accessible only by boat or swimming, the Palombaro cave becomes a sought-after spot for romantic encounters during less crowded months or summer nights, earning it the nickname “Grotta dell’Amore.”
