Highlights
  • Chan Chan - Chan Chan
Our first stop will be in Chan Chan, the ancient capital of the Chimú culture, which has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1986. The city comprises nine palaces, religious temples, and areas for production and housing for both the nobility and common people. During our visit, we will explore the Nik An palace, the only one that has been restored. The tour includes ceremonial plazas, small altars, patios, warehouses, a ceremonial well, and the funerary platform where King Chimú was buried. Many of these areas are adorned with beautiful reliefs of waves, cormorants, pelicans, fish, rhombuses, and other geometric figures, generally inspired by the sea. By the end of the visit, we will have a deeper understanding of the grandeur of the city and the Chimú culture.

  • Huanchaco - Huanchaco – Preparation of ceviche.

We head to Huanchaco to learn the secrets of preparing Peru’s most iconic dish and drink: Ceviche and Pisco Sour. An expert bartender will demonstrate the ingredients and preparation of the delicious Peruvian cocktail, Pisco Sour. Following this, the restaurant chef will teach us how to prepare a delectable ceviche, recognized as Peru’s most traditional dish. Includes tasting.

  • Pilcomayo 375 - Huanchaco - Market

We will visit the Huanchaco Market to discover the vegetables, fruits, and typical products of Peru, giving us insight into life in a local Peruvian market.

  • Playa de Huanchaco - Huanchaco – Caballitos de Totora

Amazing tour!! - Had a wonderful time with my guide Cynthia who was very knowledgeable and kind! Went to Chan Chan first and then to Huanchaco beach where I had a cooking demonstration of cerviche and Pisco Sour, then got to eat the delicious meal and drink!! Walked around Huanchaco beach and saw the reed boats, walked around the market and then was dropped off at my host house!!! A very enjoyable tour!
