Additional Information

The discovery of the Lady of Cao undeniably presents a pivotal moment, compelling every Peruvian to reconsider the fluidity of our history in light of this revelation. Our long-held belief that the Mochica culture was strictly patriarchal is challenged, and it prompts us to ponder over the significant political and socio-economic impact of pre-Columbian women during a time when, prior to this discovery, the female role was assumed to be entirely subsidiary in collective consciousness.
