• Tsoutsouros - In South Crete and more specifically in the area of the Municipality of Viannos, at a distance of 25 km, there are more than 10 gorges. One of them is Tsoutsouros gorge. A beautiful and technical canyon, suitable for beginners and children (older than 12yo).

After a brief trek from where we park, we’ll arrive at the canyon’s entrance, located at Sfakias. At first, the abseils are brief and manageable – perfect for familiarising ourselves with the techniques and equipment. But progressively, they grow more extensive and steep. As we make our way down the canyon, we have the chance to marvel at the ever-changing landscape and the breathtaking sea view. Depending on the weather, until early summer, we might come across water in the gorge, offering us the thrilling possibility of abseiling through waterfalls. The time it takes to go down can range from 3 to 4 hours, dependent on the group’s proficiency. We exit the gorge on the southern coast of Crete, at Tsoutsouros village, which is where our journey back to your hotel commences.
