Highlight of our visit! - This was the highlight of our tour to Vietnam and Cambodia, we had a private boat for the four of us, and I would highly recommend that. Our guide was magnificent and full of knowledge and information as we went. Cat Ba team were very responsive when organising our trip, and also organised private transport from Hanoi. The great thing about this company is that we go to the less busy areas, so at times when kayaking, we were the only people in the lagoon, quite magical. The good thing with having a private boat is that you can tweak the itinerary to suit what the group wants to do. The crew on the boat made our trip special as well with many little touches which I won't mention as it will spoil the surprise. I would highly recommend this tour operator.

A cruise we’ll remember forever - This cruise was the highlight of our honeymoon in Vietnam! We spent three days taking in the natural beauty of Lan Ha Bay and Halong Bay from different angles - from a kayak, swimming in the sea, biking in the countryside and hiking to the top of a peak. Every activity was perfectly organized and let us explore peaceful parts of this amazing landscape. We also had time to relax on the boat, and we had amazing meals, both seafood-based and vegetarian. Our guides were all super knowledgeable, helpful and a lot of fun to be around - thanks to Hien, Tom and Hang!! Because we stayed two nights, our group changed after the first day, and both times it was really nice to get to meet other nature-loving people from all over the world. If you enjoy being active in nature while also relaxing and having a good time, we can’t recommend this trip with Catba Ventures enough!

A memorable 2 night family cruise from Cat Ba island to Halong Bay - the highlight of our trip to Vietnam - We did a 2 night private boat cruise at Lan Ha and Halong bays from Cat Ba island. Thoroughly recommended. I booked direct with the company from the UK and the process was very efficient, the company was really helpful, offering transfers to the island and to their offices and keeping in touch regularly re our arrival in the days beforehand and making sure we were back in time for our airport transfer in ample time. Boat was perfect for myself, my husband and our 20 year old son: 2 cabins with showers, nice deck above for eating meals and relaxing. The crew were great - captain, cook and guide. Meals were local dishes, plenty of fish but also meat and vegetables and very generous. This is a great way to see the area, we were able to go into narrow inlets that the bigger boats could not and moor in little harbours with just the lights of fishing boats nearby. Our guide knew the area well so we arrived at popular kayaking spots early before the arrival of bigger boats from the mainland and then retreated to quiet swimming spots to enjoy fabulous sunsets. A truly great experience and it felt like we were priviledged to see an authentic part of Vietnam through its fishing villages, as well as stunning scenery. Thoroughly recomment Cat Ba ventures.

Great cycling and hiking tour - Did the cycling and hiking one day option. Ninh the guide was very friendly and shared a lot about Cat Ba and Vietnamese culture. Well organised and timed to perfection to get our return boat. Very generous lunch.

3 days and 2 nights with swimming, kayaking, cycling, mountaineering and good food. Wonderful!e - Our guide Toni was superb, informative and friendly!!! We learned a lot about lunar calendars, tides and Vietnamese traditions.

Around the bay and follow the wind! - What a trip! Not to overhype it, but I had in my mind I wanted to go to Ha Long Bay and I realized since coming on Cat Ba ventures that it's way prettier here in Lan Ha. From pick up to the tour to drop off, it all felt seamless. The cruise was really comfortable with big rooms. The tour itself felt like we were a family adventuring together. Highly recommend the guides Tony (best storyteller), Danny (hiker with legs of steel), and Ben (voted best jokes).

Great tour - As promised this tour took us off the beaten path and we experienced Lan Ha and Ha Long bay in a truly amazing way. Our guides Ben and Bee were very friendly and funny and told us a lot about the region and its people. The boat we spent the night on was super comfy, clean, had a friendly crew and the food was great. We also booked a transfer to Hanoi which needs mentioning as well. We were very well informed about the trip and the bus was brand new. In Hanoi they weren't able to drive the bus all the way to our hotel, so they organized (and paid) a Grab that took us to the door.

Beautiful experiences - It was really one of the highlights of our trip. Cruising the bay and kayaking in scenic places where no other tourists were was just amazing. The rooms are spacious, showers are great and the food in the boat that is included is also very nice. The beverages that were not included (such as beers) were of quality and at a good affordable price. As we did the three days two night tour, we got to meet two groups who were doing the two days one night tour - kind interesting people - and were assisted by three different tour guides. It would have been even better if we were all doing the three days tour, but the agency had explained to me before booking that unfortunately not a lot of people do this tour, so they combine two different tour groups. Especially our first guide Bee and the last guidr Hang deserve special recognition. Very nice guys who made the tour an unforgettable experience. Bee shared with us knowledge about the vietnamese culture and made us laugh the whole time. Hang amazed us with his magic tricks. I can definitely recommend this tour with Cat Ba Ventires. Two nights is just the right amount of time to spend there. The second day hiking and cycling was also super fun. The hiking in Cat Ba National Park was intense but I had anticipated it and the views were a great reward. Just sadly the typhoon made a lot of damage on the top of the Navy Peak. It was very beautiful as I had never seen as many butterflies in my life and our tour guide said, it was not even much, as we are in winter. We ate at a yummy restaurant in the village and got to try the fish massage. I'm glad we chose this tour and feel so grateful the recommendations that convinced me of doing it. Even if it's a bit expensive, it was really worth it. We saw (and heard) some other boats on the bay from far and the vibe was completely another (loud music, big groups)... So this was just right for us.
