Trek through Cat Ba National Park to Viet Hai Village

Cat Ba Island - Start your adventure with a convenient hotel pickup by our knowledgeable tour guide at around 8.00 AM. Head towards Cat Ba National Park.

Cat Ba National Park - Arrive at the park entrance, pay the entrance fee, and begin an invigorating trek. Immerse yourself in the lush tropical forest, encountering various wildlife such as agile minks, curious squirrels, playful monkeys, colorful butterflies, and possibly the rare yellow-headed langur, a primate listed in the Red Book. Conquer three mountains known locally as “Ang Vắt,” “Mây Bầu,” and “Ang Phay.”

After a 2.5-hour trek covering about 6 kilometers, reach the Frog Pond, the largest freshwater lake in the National Forest. From the pond’s depths, towering “Va Nuoc” trees rise, a species unique to the Frog Pond and found nowhere else on Cat Ba Island. Observe the diverse fish and crab species in the pond, and take a well-deserved 30-minute break.

Viet Hai Village - Continue your trek from Frog Pond, ascending the final mountain named “Doc Dài” to reach Viet Hai village, a peaceful ancient settlement of about 100 families. (4 km)

Viet Hai Village - Enjoy a delicious lunch and a relaxing break in Viet Hai village. Experience a unique fish massage, where gentle fish nibble on your feet as you soak in the cool stream flowing from Cat Ba’s primeval forest.

Lan Ha Bay - Experience the daily life of the village’s inhabitants. Take a leisurely 5-kilometer bicycle ride to Viet Hai harbor, where you’ll board a scenic boat cruise through Lan Ha Bay. Stop at a floating home and embark on a kayaking adventure, exploring the mesmerizing beauty of Lan Ha Bay, renowned as the world’s most captivating bay. Relish the tranquility as you immerse yourself in the crystal-clear waters of Lan Ha Bay.

Cai Beo Ferry Terminal and Dock - The boat will transport you back to Cai Beo Wharf, where you’ll have the opportunity to visit Cai Beo Fishing Village on the return journey. Established centuries ago, Cai Beo bears witness to the legacy of Cat Ba’s ancient residents who transitioned from forest dwellers to seafaring communities, seeking sustenance from the ocean’s bounty.

Cat Ba - Conclude your journey with a return ride to Cat Ba town center. Free and relax for the rest of the day.

Cat Ba - Lan Ha Bay – Ha Long Bay

Cat Ba - Around 11.00 AM, we will pick you up from your address on Cat Ba island, then transfer by tender to our cruises from Cai Beo Port. Next, welcome you onboard and then check in, enjoy a Welcome Drink, receive a cruise brief and safety instruction from the crew member and Cruise Manager. Enjoy lunch before continuing our journey via the islets.

Lan Ha Bay - After lunch, get ready to visit untouched Cat Ba Island, from Coc Ngoi islet, Cua Dong sea gate to Ba Trai Dao area.

Halong Bay - The Cruise sails through Lan Ha Bay, surrounded by extraordinary limestone karst landscapes. You can start your journey to visit Dark & Bright Cave and islets by kayaking, which offers a wild and mysterious beauty in the middle of the World Heritage site. Enjoy swimming in the crystal-clear waters of the Bay. Just enjoy a swim. This is a great experience, immersed in the crystal-clear waters of the bay.

Lan Ha Bay - Returning to your Venezia Cruises boat, you can watch the magnificent sunset over the Gulf of Tonkin. Onboard, you may join a traditional cooking class. Our chef will instruct you in making some Vietnamese spring rolls. In the early evening, the boat has its Happy Hour deal. Dinner is served. Enjoy delicious local food prepared and served for you by our wonderful onboard catering staff. This is a delightful meal in an intimate romantic setting.

Viet Hai Village – Lan Ha Bay – Ca Ba

Lan Ha Bay - Begin your new day by taking photos or enjoying the sunrise from your cabin window or the sun-deck. Enjoy breakfast in the delightful and peaceful beauty of the bay.

Halong Bay - Transfer to a tender to visit Viet Hai Village on Cat Ba Island and hop on a bicycle ride (electric car also available) through a rainforest tunnel that leads to a village nestled in a valley deep in a national park. Meet, visit a traditional house, and greet local inhabitants doing their daily work, see their homes and the village school.

Return to the cruise for check-out procedures. While cruising back, you can enjoy a delightful lunch. We return to the quay side in the south of the bay, where our visitors disembark.

Cat Ba - When the tour ends, we will finish in Cat Ba Island, and our car will take you back to your address on the island.
