11.30: You will stop at Frog Pond (trail from Park gate to Frog Pond is 6 km). This is the largest freshwater lake in the middle of the National Forest. From the bottom of the pond, reaching up to thousands of trees and water - the species is only found in the Frog Ponds not found anywhere else on the island. There are many types of fish and crab in the pond.
12.00 - 13.00: Continue the journey from Frog Pond to Viet Hai village (3.5 km). This is a small village of local residents with about 100 families.
13.00: Have lunch and take a rest at Viet Hai village, take a fun experience by fish massage your feet.
14.00: Free to explore the lives of people in the village, cycling 5km to Viet Hai harbor.
15.00: Boat will take you through Lan Ha Bay, you have a chance to admire the scenery of beautiful Lan Ha Bay, Cai Beo fishing village. Our boat will stop at a floating house to take kayak then rows to a wild beach for swimming.
16.45: Back to Cai Beo pier, car take you to Cat Ba town.

If you want to explore Cat Ba’s nature, I recommend this tour - This tour was definitely one of my highlights during my Vietnam trip. Our guide Anh guided us trough Cat Bas’s National Park. The intensity of the nature just blew me away!
Anh showed us during our hike (including some climbing) animals and explained us the nature. Just ensure that you have good shoos, enough water and mosquito repellent with you. Tour is around 4-4.5 h in rainy conditions, less if it is dry.
After our hike, we had lunch at Viet Hai Village, passed amazing scenery by bike to go to the costs and then went my boot back. During our boot trip we had a kayak tour to a nice island where we could swim.
It is definitely with doing the hike with an experienced guide as Anh, who can explain you everything! 😊

Super friendly and funny guide. Beautiful scenery and all arrangements were well coordinated. - Five stars! Our guide Anh was nice and friendly, and he really did make the tour extremely enjoyable.
Picked me up at the hotel on time.
Trekked in Cat Ba National Park for half day, was surprised by some climbing we need to do. Definitely cannot wear sandals. Beautiful scenery and majestic trees all around me. BRING MOSQUITO REPELLENT! I went in July so there was many mosquitoes. Was worth the hike even tho!
Ate lunch at Viet Hai Village, which was a decent meal. Cycled 15 min to the pier, passing beautiful scenery along the way. Boat was took us to a kayak place and we kayaked to a small island and swim. Then the boat took us back Ben Beo Pier and the car took us back Cat Ba Town.
Scenery was great, I'm happy all arrangements and transport were taken care of and those are things that me as a tourist cannot arrange by myself.
I think walking in Cat Ba National Park without tour guide is possible, but it would be difficult to alert or call for help if any accidents occur, especially if you need to climb a bit of rocks during the trek. Also, you would need to arrange for a boat to take you back Ben Beo/ Cat Ba once you get to the end of the trek, or else you need to walk back the way you came... Better to have someone local to take care of things.

Beautiful day in National Park - It was a wonderful day! Guide Anh is a true professional. He was very attentive, showed local flora and fauna, told interesting stories. Beautiful lunch, bike and boat ride. Kayaking in the bay and swimming on the wild beach. A sea of emotions and memories for life! At the end of the day, invited to a bar and treated to a cold beer, a great ending to the weekend on Kat Ba.

Amazing and Complete Tour! - 12 km walking into an astonishing jungle to Viet Hai, where we had a fantastic lunch and a small rest before taking the bikes for a 5km ride that gets you into the breathtaking Lang Ha Bay landscape. Then we took a small/local boat through the Bay where we did 40 min of kayaking and after that we ended the trip in a beautiful beach. Anh, our guide, was very nice and he explained us many curiosities about the vietnamise life and nature. We were a small group of 4 and he let us explore on our own with no rush at all. Probably one of the best guided tours you can do inland in Cat Ba, if not the best! We give him a 12!

Perfect day perfect guide . Good physical condition needed. - Beautiful day .
Happy the weather was Nice no rain and the water of the sea was calm .
Our guide Ang was so Nice and did a great Job. We could not have been any luckier with him to be our guide.
6 stars for him.
The hiking tour itself required a good condition . We even did Some climbing over rocks .

Excellent day - In the morning a very nice hike and in the afternoon bike kayak, finally we went to a nice little place to swim.

Not to be missed - Amazing experience! Day full of Things to do mixing sport and relaxation, accompanied by a Guide passionate about his profession who will teach you a lot about Vietnam and especially Cat Ba! The diversity of Things to do during the day allows you to taste a bit of everything and never get bored! If you love sports this experience is for you! I highly recommend this activity, it was for me one of the best day of my stay!

a fantastic nature experience - Anh guided us safely and reliably through the jungle. We had considered doing the tour on our own, but given the paths and the four hills, we were very glad that we had Anh. There was also a small fall, but Anh treated the injury professionally!
Lunch was also plentiful and very tasty, and the subsequent boat trip with kayak tour and swimming break was extremely relaxing after the strenuous hike!
A really successful day!

Fantastic day hiking in Cat Ba - Had a great day hiking with Thang who did an amazing job looking after us. The hike is quite strenuous and you definitely need good footwear. Be prepared for some steep climbs and needing to use your hands in places. Thang was brilliant helping my wife through some of the more difficult sections and also during the long descent to Viet Hai. The food in Viet Hai was really good, some of the best we have had in Vietnam. The cycling and the kayaking were very enjoyable too. Overall a great day out although very tiring, would thoroughly recommend.
