So good I did it twice 🤣 - Went on both the Barron and also the Tully with this amazing group of individuals. Felt so safe for my first time rafting and instantly loved it so went back for the Tully experience which was definitely more adrenaline pumping than the Barron. Would absolutely recommend going with raging thunder! Also they were super sweet and dropped me back closer to my hostel when it was raining at night :)

Make this trip your priority - Did this tour in 1999 and this was way way superior. Depending on the time of year dictates where you start on the river. With being in middle of the dry season, albeit a wet one we started near the top close to Tully Gorge. The downside is it was a 3 hour transfer each way but the absolute positive is you are rewarded with pretty much endless top end Broza rapids for the whole time on the water. Our guide Kye was superb but all them were all top blokes and every boat had a fun time. Highly highly recommended.

Ranging Thunder Rafting July 24 - Each year I go away with my boys and this year we chose Cairns. Booked the Raging Thunder Tully trip as I did this 15 plus years ago with some mates. This year we had the best time again with our guide Tom, the rafting was amazing and the scenery spectacular. The water was a little cold but refreshing. I would recommend this trip for everyone; we had the best day. 5 Stars

Rip-Roaring, Heartpounding, and Glorious - I came with my mom and Sister while vising Cairns. The actual rafting part of the day was a 2-3 hour experience with some of the most gorgeous and intense water I've ever seen. It was a little cool, but not cold. I wore a rash guard swimsuit, which was perfect under the thermal shirt and life vest. This journey is definitely not for the faint of heart, or very little kids. The water is rough and intense. You need to paddle, and paddle hard at times. It is fully possible to fall out of the boat into gnarly rapids. They give you a helmet for a reason. That said, the guides are super experienced and know what they are doing. They also have a system where different guides wait on the rocks to help any boats or rafters who get in distress. It was intense, but I felt safe and looked after, and it was really a lot of fun. There are also quiet sections of the river that are simply gorgeous. My only minor complaint is that dinner at the end of the day is pretty bland pub food, but let's be honest, you aren't booking this tour for the food. Minor tips, make sure you bring a warm towel and a full change of clothes. Wear your swim clothes under a basic outfit so you can change quickly when you get to the raft. Also, don't bother bringing cameras. They will take photos of your boat and give you the option to purchase. They'll be more dynamic than what you can take on your own. Have fun on the Tully, I sure did.

The Mighty Tully River with Raging Thunder. - Highly recommend this experience to anyone who love to get outdoors and who wants to see the hidden gems, lost in the wilderness of far North Queensland. Cairns Adventure Group and Raging Thunder did a superb job at organising this wild, stunning and unforgettable experience for me and my wonderful wife (She's so pretty). Not only did we see the Cassowary Coast at its best, you're plunged into the beauty and power of the mighty Tully River. Our guide was so professional navigating the wild rapids and bubbling currents as cold water exploded over our raft. The laughter, smiles, and moments of pure adrenaline we experienced on-board was worth every cent for the memories of that amazing day. Everyone we met were lovely and the warm Pub feed with new found friends was the perfect way to end the day of pure excitement. 10/10
