Great combo and guide - Chichen Itza was amazing during winter, it wasn't as hot as usual and that's a great plus since we walked a lot The ruins had many structures and a lot of history behind them, the guide made sure we were included and asked us to participate in some activities at the ruins And the cenote was so beautiful, the water were really cold tho. The food was a buffet and a great fit since we were really hungry from the walk

High recommendation and praise to our tour guides! - It's been a week since our daytrip to Chichen Itza with stops at Cenote at Saamal, the Mayan village at Kaua, and the Spanish Colonial city of Valladolid and we are still processing the wealth of information that our guides Victor and Nestor gave us. Victor is so knowledgeable about the Mayan history and is witty, articulate and a tremendous educator. Full marks to each of them, and our driver. Highly recommend this tour.

Great trip - Very fun and lighthearted experience. We visited a stunning cenote to start off the day. The guides Gustavo etc were very fun, explained everything and made sure we knew everything. All in all an incredible day with great food included, going straight to the Mayan community.

The good, the bad, & the ugly - The Good, the bad, & the ugly We booked late and it's Xmas, so this was one of the last tours with seats available & the price was decent! Good. The bus was 40 minutes late, there was about 200 people at the meet up spot, so confusing. We were the last group to be picked up. They had to collect $17 usd cash before we boarded. Didn't depart until one hour late. Bad! Cenote was first. Only 45 minutes. Crowded. Less than half on the big bus got in bc by the time you shower, change, walk down, jump in splash-- it's 10 minutes in the water. Get out, rinse, dress. Board. Absolutely not enough time. Bad. 20 minutes away to lunch. Tourist trap to sell you a lot of schlock imho, but friends think it was on bc supports locals. 20 minutes w "shaman" cleansing was a welcome to Mayan culture. Friends liked it. I found it silly. We are starving at this point. Like HANGRY. Next 20+ on Mayan horoscope certificate & chotchki shopping. Would've preferred being told you have 40 minutes to do this and that or walk around before lunch. Annoyed and really hungry at this point. Bad to tolerable. Finally lunch. They tried to seat us at a dirty table that no one cleaned so my friend had to go ask for a towel and wiped this huge table down for ten people. Lunch line was shredded chicken, tortillas, beans and thin watery black beans. There was salad available. Drinks aren't included. Ok. Chicken was quite tasty. Ok overall. Bus to Chitchen Itzá was about an hour. A lot of traffic getting in bc it's peak season. Ok. Entry is chaotic bc there's a LOT of people and a small bottleneck entrance but it works. We were divided into two groups one Spanish from the bus one English who was on site. Out English speaking tour was AMAZEBALLS! The guide was very knowledgeable, animated and fun. About 50 minutes. Then we had 45 minutes on our own. Pretty sure the ad said 3 hours but we were pretty late plus traffic, but enough time to see everything. Great! We tipped $200 pesos each. Now the ugly. Drive to Valladolid. The sun was going down. Some pretty fast driving. A LOT of traffic getting in. The bus toilet was "out of order" from the onset which means they just didn't want to deal with cleaning it. Absolute WASTE OF TIME GOING TO VALLADOLID. I think they really just needed a toilet break bc you had 30 minutes from exit of bus to get back on the bus. They need to skip this stop. It's too much. 1000% unnecessary. Bad & Ugly. Drive back to Tulum in heavy rain at excessive speed for the conditions and several scary passes of cars and large trucks-- cars flashed their lights. We were white knuckles. I imagine bc it was late and they still had to take half of the folks to Playa del Carmen after dropping us in Tulum. Bad. Tour guide Rhett was pretty great. He explained what was happening well. We tipped $320 pesos each. Good. Overall, decent tour with good guides. Tour company needs tighter organization & punctuality. Less shopping, more sight seeing time. Earlier lunch.

More expensive than anticipated - Overall tour was good, but it costs more money than advertised, extra both for guide, as well as telling you they will give you back change for entrance at Cenote, but never does.
