Great 3-in-1 tour! - Everything was great although would have liked about 20 additional minutes at Tulum. The cenote swim was the best part. During our snorkling we saw sting rays, turtles and several ‘Dory’s’. Ask for Rafa as your guide!

Unique and awesome experience - Great experience, Alma and her crew did an awesome job. First stop was the tulum ruins. They were beautiful and we had plenty of time to explore it all. Second came the snorkeling. We went a couple of days after the hurricane hit which contributed to currents that day. Regardless, Alma assisted those who needed help swimming and was patient all throughout the trip. By the end of our snorkeling, it started to rain which made it a unique experience to be a part of. Last came the cenote. Beautiful!!!! The water was fresh and the tour was amazing. While exiting the cave it started raining again and everyone was relaxed. We all shared a moment to realize how amazing it was to be in a jungle while it rained on us.

Best experience in Cancun! - The visit to the Mayan caves to learn about the history was a beautiful experience for my family. This was our first time snorkeling and going through a Cenote and our guide made it easy and fun! This was an experience we will never forget!

Great experience for the most part - Overall, our trip was a lot of fun. We were promptly picked up from our hotel, driven to all the locations of our excursion's, and dropped back off at the end of the day. The first stop were the Mayan Ruins in Tulum. We were there for roughly 45 minutes-1 hour. This was plenty of time because the mosquitos were relentless. From here we went snorkeling. Just prior to snorkeling, our group of 8 was combined with another group of 8 people. The snorkeling took place in open water. The water was pretty murky and it was difficult to see anything. Being combined with another group made the experience chaotic and it was like herding cats—in water. The waves were very choppy and I don’t think it was an ideal location for relaxing snorkeling. We probably actively snorkeled for about 20-30 minutes. We then got back on the same bus to drive to the cenote. The road to get to the cenote was extremely bumpy, and someone ended up getting sick on the bus. The food prior to the cenote was delicious and authentic. Again—mosquitoes were eating all of us pretty terribly. The cenote was our favorite experience because the water was really refreshing after a long day. The cenote we swam in was underground and the water was clear and it was super neat to see how the rain and the limestone interact to create the cenote. Overall, it was a good experience. Oscar was a great guide who was knowledgeable and friendly. Tips for future travelers: —Bring your own bug spray and apply at your hotel so it was time to absorb into your body before being in the heat and sweating it all off. —Water shoes that you can walk in gravel with and wear all day will be the best shoe option. —Travel in your bathing suit so you do not have to change prior to the ruins. —Wear loose long sleeve shirts/pants that are very light weight and breathable to protect yourself from the mosquitos. —Bring and insulated water bottle. —Wear a hat. —Bring cash—everything is cheaper when you pay cash. Happy adventuring!

Tulum ruins and two cenotes very fun - Really nice trip with really nice professional guide and driver. Joaquin and Yuriel did a great job taking us to Tulum and two cenotes. The van wasn’t very comfortable and we didn’t eat lunch until 3pm otherwise this would have gotten 5 stars.

Tulum Ruins, Reef Snorkeling, Cenote and Caves - We were a group of four and the pickup process was easy. We booked a shared tour so one other group joined us. We arrived at the archeological site first and enjoyed learning about the Mayan culture. It was a little flooded at the site so our water shoes came in handy. The reef snorkeling experience was replaced with snorkeling at a lagoon which our group really enjoyed. We were told that no lockers would be available at the snorkeling location and advised that we could use the van as a locker as no one would have access. We left our bags and upon return almost all in our tour noticed that our things had been opened and gone through. We quickly notified the tour guide that someone went through our things with some having missing items. We were told that we could speak with the supervisor at the next stop about the missing items but no resolution. Some of our group decided to not swim in the cenote to hold the belongings for others. Overall we enjoyed the activities but wish that all would have been able to enjoy the entire experience. Make sure you have a non plastic reusable water bottle and bug spray for the tour. Also be sure to keep watch of your belongings if booking this experience.

Okay. Average. Great tour guides - Its decent. Not the best, it's just okay. Nothing you cant do yourself. The best part is the tour guide. We had Claudia & Tony the photographer and they were GREAT. Friendly, very knowledgable they weren't pushy or anything. They explained the Ruins/Mayan culture nicely. But to be honest, you can just drive there and explore yourself (it would be cheaper). They took us to a beach which was beautiful. We opted out of the snorkeling and stayed by the beach. The locals were great. Again we could have just drove there. Would be cheaper. We then went to the "private cenote" which was really all that. Going to Gran Cenote is a MUCH BETTER experience. The lunch was HORRIBLE 0/10 tacos were soggy and had no flavor. All in all the guides were the highlight. Everything else you can do yourself and it would be cheaper and better

Not worth the expense. - My party of 7 was left feeling like the experience was not worth the expense. The Viator and Ocean tours company were flexible with our booking plans considering the horribly wet weather. We adjusted our date and party size smoothly. I checked in with them the day before because of the tropical storm to learn the snorkel portion would be canceled. “hello, thank you for asking, tomorrow we will go ahead with the tour just the snorkel in reef will be substituted by snorkel in a cenote, Tulum visit will be extended and the cenote and lunch will be two cenotes plus lunch” The original itinerary on Viator states - 1 hour 30 minutes at the Tulum site and 3 hours at the Cenote. After the long walk into the site we spent approximately 45 minutes exploring and learning about the ruins. There was much more to see, but we had to leave and then we’re given 15 minutes to explore the market near the drop off area (would have preferred that time at the site). At the Cenote, we spent approximately 25 minutes actually in the water of the cave ( the most amazing part for sure) and again there were sections of the site that others saw and we did not. The rest of the time was reserved for changing clothes, eating, waiting, then watching an upsell presentation of photos their photographer shot of the activity. Honestly we would have preferred to spend less time posing for their camera - we stopped multiple times to do staged photos - and more time experiencing these wonders. After lunch there was another 20minute session where you watched a slideshow of the photos and were asked to pay for them if you wanted copies. We spent over $900 for the excursion and another $100 for pictures, plus 8 hours of our day for about 1.5 hours of experience. There was NO 2nd Cenote Experience! as the operator had shared the previous day (through text messages) and our guide only said that I would have to take that up with the tour operator - his itinerary was set. Our 3 in 1 was really just 2 in 1 and we all left feeling underwhelmed. I shared this review w/ Ocean tours and they were disappointed that the alternative activity did not meet my expectations. I asked what the alternative activity was - they never responded.

Good tour team, bad tour experience - Corrected review: Honest review: First of all, the team, including the driver Angel, tour guide Monse, and cameraman Rodrigo, were all very friendly and professional. They did their best to satisfy the visitors. However, I'm not recommending this tour for four reasons: 1. They advised in the additional notes to wear sunscreen at the hotel. However, before the snorkeling activity, you will be asked to wash it all off in the shower before stepping into the water. This caused my wife to get a severe sunburn, which affected our vacation. 2. The lunch provided at the end of the tour was awful, literally. It was at a local restaurant in the rainforest, which offered three tacos per person. The way they stored the food was unhealthy and unhygienic, plus the taste was not good either. Basically, I would rate the lunch 1 out of 5. 3. You will be asked not to bring anything yourself to the snorkeling location. Even towels and clothes must remain in the car. Surprisingly, we noticed other tours allowed their participants to bring belongings, including towels and clothes, to the snorkeling area. 4. You will be discouraged from bringing your phone because they want to charge you $60 USD at the end of the tour per family for photos. Of course, this is optional and not a mandatory cost. We chose not to be photographed during the tour. However, if your phone is waterproof, please do bring it and take your pictures. I would suggest reserving these kinds of tours in your resort lobby, as everyone will be picked up and dropped off at the same place, and you won't have the headache of circling around for other people's pickups and drop-offs.

Traumatic experience - I would give our trip a 5 star rating except for the snorkeling part. That part gets a negative. Our boat captain actually ran over some other snorkelers going full speed. It was very traumatic for us. He didn’t even stop to see if anyone was hurt, It’s hard to believe they were ok-the boat actually went over the top of them-going full speed. Then, we were very hesitant to get in the water, for fear another boat would run us over. We could not relax to enjoy snorkeling because we felt we needed to watch for other boats. Then our boat left us and the other boat beside ours also left. We were very afraid. I know there are some risks involved with snorkeling, but you wouldn’t think being run over was one.
