Highlights
  • Medina of Tunis - this sprawling labyrinth of ancient streets and alleys is one of the most impressive medieval medinas in North Africa and one of Tunisia’s great treasures. It’s home to numerous covered souks selling everything from shoes to shisha, as well as bustling cafes, alleyways full of artisans at work, and residential areas punctuated by large, brightly painted doorways. Historic palaces, hammams, mosques and madrassas (schools for the study of the Koran) are scattered throughout, many are richly decorated with tiles, carved stucco and marble columns.
  • La Goulette - this suburban district is renowned for the perpetual animation that reigns in its streets, all year round. The terraces of cafes and restaurants follow one another by the sea
  • Site Archeologique de Carthage - The archaeological site of Carthage is a site scattered in the current city of Carthage (Tunisia) and classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979.
  • Sidi Bou Said - With its distinctive blue and white colors, cobbled streets and breathtaking glimpses of azure waters, the cliff-top village of Sidi Bou Said is one of the most beautiful places in Tunisia.
Its distinctive architecture is a mix of Ottoman and Andalusian, the result of the influx of Spanish Muslims in the 16th century.

Great trip with small children - Great experience with young children. Tour guide was extremely knowledgeable with area and adjusted itinerary to make experience the best possible due to cruise tours. Lunch was excellent and all locations visited were amazing. I would highly recommend for others interested in a cultural/historical trip to Tunis and the surrounding area.

Great experience, thank you, Rafik! - Rafik was an excellent tour guide who was very knowledgeable about the history of Tunisia. He was surely a pleasure to spend the day with. Thank you Rafik for showing our family a great time! We went through the winding streets of Medina and saw the highlight lookout spots, then onto the ruins of Carthage and the Antonian baths. We then traveled to the highlight of the day was the quaint town of Sidi Bousaid. The lunch was good. If I had any criticism, it would be the pickup location at the onset of the day. Our family had to meet at a hotel off the beaten path, and a landmark location closer to the cruise dock would have eased our worries. The travel agent was in constant contact with us, so it worked out. Overall, it was a great day! THANK YOU RAFIK!

Truly Memorable - I had an exceptional experience with this private tour. My tour guide, Chouayeb, and driver Said, were very professional and attentive. Booking the tour just for myself allowed Chouayeb to provide an in-depth exploration of the history behind all the sites and places we visited. Thank you again, Chouayeb and Said!

A full day Tunis, Sidi Bin Said and Carthage 🩷 - This tour was wonderful, from the old Medina of Tunis to the beauty of Sidi Bin Said and ending in the ancient wonder of Carthage we leant so much about Tunisia, saw so many wonderful sights and had a great experience. Our guide, Fahmi, was knowledgeable, friendly, professional and a great ambassador for Tunisia! He quickly recognised that my friend and I were all about the culture and adapted our trip to focus on items that he perceived would interest us. Great job! I will definitely recommend to anyone visiting Tunisia.

Unable to provide English speaking guide - Despite booking the trip with the assurance of having an English-speaking guide, our guide spoke no English. As a result, we spent the entire trip without learning anything about the places we visited. Additionally, we were not informed about meeting points and times during free exploration periods, which made us feel quite anxious. When we tried to communicate with the guide, he often shrugged us off and continued speaking in French with the other guests.

Misleading Tour Experience - The tour was not conducted in English. The tour guide was polite to me but clearly stressed, translating for everyone except me. I had specifically booked an English-language tour and dedicated a full day of my holiday to learn and experience new things. Instead, I was merely given a time and place at each stop and was always the last to leave the coach, sometimes alone, unable to communicate or share in what others experienced. It was a disappointing experience, even to the point of being laughed at.

Use Viator and Didon at your own risk - Attention English-speaking buyers: Do not use this company. We booked a trip to Carthage, Sidi Bousaid, and La Médina with Viator and specifically selected an English-speaking guide. However, we were placed on a tour with a French-speaking guide. When we informed the guide that we did not understand French, he said it was not his problem. As a result, we had no idea what was happening at any of the stops or any information throughout the trip. We contacted Viator to report that we did not receive the service we had booked and paid for. Viator responded by blaming the local company, but I reminded them that we had booked through Viator, not a local company. Viator was quick to take our money but took no responsibility when they failed to provide what we had purchased.
