Incredible tour of the ruins of Carthage and other sites provided by Beligh who brings the history alive - We did the ‘Private Day Tour: Medina of Tunis, Carthage, Sidi Bousaid with lunch’ on the back of watching a YouTube video where Tom Thornton had done the same and were delighted to also have Beligh as our guide. We were collected from our hotel (Palais Bayram, which we would also highly recommend, very traditional mini Tunisian palace/Riad feel) at 9 AM and were wisked off on a tour starting with Ruins of ancient Carthage, then Punic Tophet (Carthaginian baby cemetery) followed by a Punic port with circular island, then the Antonin baths, followed by a drink in Sidi Bou Said(similar looking to Santorini) at Cafe des Delices, lunch was then provided elsewhere (local specialty brick (deep fried egg in filo pastry) and we chose the fish with came with rice and veg, very tasty, before finally being dropped back at the medina where Beligh walked us around before showing us back to our hotel, though the labirinth which is the medina, arriving back around 4PM.
Having seen the video produced by Tom we knew what we were getting in Beligh, and he was just as good in real life, he was very well educated on the subject matter and has an infecectious enthusiasm which made the history even more interesting. On the breaks where we were left to explore for a few mins on our own you could see him scurrying about the ruins making notes and taking pictures as he is obviously devoted to continuing his learning on the subject matter and drawing conclusions based on his finds.
It is incredible how we managed to cover so much in one day and Beligh did a brilliant job of educating us on the history of the ruins and wider country. I think we have both left wanting to read and learn more about Carthage, and the incredibly colourful history it offers.

Beauty, history and culture with a knowledgable local guide - It was really an excellent tour full of amazing sites and views. From the private car pick up with my own tour guide Chaouki right through the tour of the Medina everything was excellent. My guide was a font of historical facts for everywhere we went. He also explained a lot about the flora we saw along the way. The ruins in Carthage were magnificent and the views from the Cathedral were spectacular. Sidi BouSaid was just beautiful. And Chaouki made sure I saw everything and was aware of the history and symbolism of everything I saw. After that we went back into Tunis for a great lunch in a local lunch stop and then took a tour of the Medina on foot to walk off all the amazing food. The Medina was fascinating, particulary the opportunity to purchase fabulous local essential oil fragrances, choosing while being treated to a delicious local coffee. I got the once-in-a-lifetime experience I was hoping for. Thanks Chaouki.
I can't recommend this ant more highly if you have some time in Tunis and want to see beautiful places and experience a bit of local life.

A great experience - I was the only guest on this tour, which I found strange at first. The English speaking guide and his driver were very nice and extremely competent.
All questions were answered and a lot of valuable knowledge about the country, the people and history was imparted.
The tour lasted about seven hours.
All offered destinations were approached and also a few extra stops were made if these fit the theme and there was still time left.
You felt safe at all times, all relevant codes of conduct were explained.
In addition to the guided Things to do, there was also time for exploring. The driver and the guide were always to be found at the agreed place at the agreed time.
Overall, it was an impressive experience where you could see and learn a lot.

great day out - The history of Carthage is extremely interesting and visiting the sites helped to contextualize all that you read. Even without the historical knowledge and context the locations are extremely compelling and impressive.
Definitely recommend this trip.
Adel was our tour guide, a very knowledgeable and entertaining man

A Wonderful Experience with Boutheina - A Journey We’ll Never Forget! - A Wonderful Experience with Boutheina - A Journey We’ll Never Forget!
From the moment we met Boutheina, we knew we were in for a special experience. Her passion for Tunisia's history and culture was evident throughout our tour of Sidi Bou Said, the Medina, and Carthage. With her deep knowledge and warm personality, she made every corner of these stunning places come to life for us.
Sidi Bou Said, with its breathtaking blue and white streets, became even more magical with her insights. The Medina’s vibrant history was revealed in every alley we explored, and Carthage’s ancient grandeur felt like a journey back in time, thanks to her wonderful storytelling.
We can’t thank Boutheina enough for her kindness and for making us feel at home in Tunisia. She went above and beyond to ensure that we experienced not only the beauty of these places but also the heart and soul behind them. It was more than just a tour – it was a memorable connection with a rich history and an incredible guide.
With love from Romania,
Alexandra & Marcela

Great day out, highly recommended. - The tour was great, our guide Rafik was excellent and extremely knowledgeable. We were given a good amount of background and history which was really interesting. The food was some of the best I have eaten, and as Rafik knew a lot of the shop owners etc they gave us some interesting additional history about some of the traditions. O
Would definitely recommend, only ranking 4 instead of 5 stars as we were picked up around 25 minutes later than expected and werent able to get hold of them, after that everything ran smoothly.

Expensive day out - The nicest part of this tour was the view over the sea in Sid bousiad. We had nice moments. We didn't expect to have a driver and a tour guide. The tour guide took us into a shop in Tunis. It had what he said was the government 'seal of approval'. It was not just the many shop staff trying to get us to spend money. The tour guide was trying too. He went on a bout the carpets. Which were lovely and appeared hard wearing, as if it was his shop. Felt pressurised to a point that we felt wouldn't get out the shop in one piece if we didn't buy something. We also knew we had to spend the rest of the day with the rep and he pulled faces and rolled his eyes when we refused to buy. However, he appeared generally to be a nice man. Aspects of the tour we knew more about than he did and could have done it without a guide. I would not do this again as I feel the tour was so cheap so that we could be ripped off in shop.
