Hear why Tunis is such a special place from someone who knows it well - My guide Youssef was a real gentleman. It was a pleasure getting the chance to have him show me the city he clearly cares so personally about. He knows his way around town as well as I imagine any local, and his passion for its history and its culture are deep and valuable, regardless of whether you're someone like myself who was looking to experience Tunis for the first time or you've visited before. Doing so allowed me to gain a helpful foundation for understanding the significance of the city's various points of interest to explore further on my own time. I couldn't have asked for a better introduction and heartily recommend this one as a result.

Great tour to the Medina with the best tour guide, Su! - I give a five stars to this tour. My tour guide Su, was the best! he born and raised in the Medina and therefore he knows everything about it, we walked through the most hidden little streets, plenty of real Tunisian life not just the touristic view. The Medina is so gorgeous! Thank you Su! you rock :)

Good comprehensive walking tour of Tunis. Be prepared for lots of walking. - Very knowledgeable of the city of Tunis and the many neighborhoods and their history. Good comprehensive tour, but flexible in the areas that we saw. Also very knowledgeable of the history of Tunisia and recent political situation. Be prepared for lots of walking. Was taken to one essential oil shop with the standard “presentation” and expectation to buy something. However, it was reasonably priced for Westerners and did not feel overly pressured.

Beware...Bait & Switch Scheme - My low rating is based on the fact that the tour was NOT private as advertised and offered and paid for. I specifically booked/paid for a private tour, which was later confirmed in my email booking receipt and verbally by Viator/TripAdvisor representatives. Halfway through the tour, a French couple joined the tour, which required the guide to speak in two languages; an unnecessary waste of time. Later, more time was wasted when I had to wait for the French couple to purchase a rug at a forced stop to a carpet store. I have no desire to stop at shops while on tours, which I had made clear to the guide in the beginning. The Tunisian 'Yahoo Travel'* tour company representative I later spoke to was unsympathetic to my private tour complaint, implying I should have been grateful he didn't cancel my tour, due to staffing issues. Note, however, that the actual tour guide was nice, knowledgeable, helpful, and on time. *The Tunisian Yahoo Travel tour company representative is also the same individual associated with the Tunisian AOUES Travel and Events company, which provided a non-private tour (should have been private) the following day. Tour Guide Never Showed Up - The tour guide never showed up. We sent messages and called the local tour operator and no one picked up the phone or responded to the message sent via the Viator app. We got up at 7 AM for no reason.

Guide did not turn up - We waited at the arranged spot, nobody turned up. Nobody picked up the phone which was given as a contact number. Very annoying when you are trying to make the best out of a weekend trip!
