The guides Eduardo and Jose Luis were charming and were super attentive giving us all the necessary explanations both the initial security and the flora and fauna of the river as well as the life of the place, during the journey. We made the 25km descent in pair rafting thanks to a system installed by Jose Luis in which he could carry two oars at once and that made us enjoy the experience at full strength. Meanwhile Eduardo followed us on a Kayak, in case any rescue was necessary. They also prepared us a delicious lunch by the river to rest. They were super punctual and allowed us to stay in a different place where we could park the car since after the rafting our plan was different from that of returning to Turrialba. As if that were not enough Eduardo had the detail of making us a couple of videos that he sent us at the end of the tour (at no cost). I would definitely recommend this activity with this company. Great experience! - Our 3 guides Eduardo, Jose-Luis and Melany were really professional and very nice. We had a great time ! We are grateful to have spent this unique moment with our teenagers . The boat part is really fun but also the view of the forest is gorgeous and worth it !!!

Fun and security guaranteed - A very exciting experience in a beautiful environment, my partner and I had never rafted but the Guide was in charge of guiding us masterfully, making us feel safe at all times and enjoy it 100%. In addition to the masterclass on fauna, flora and indigenous people of the area.

BEST ACTIVITY IN COSTA RICA - At fist I was scared of doing the activity but from the first moment me and my friend met the staff, we got very relaxed. We have had a once in a lifetime experience, it has been super safe and super beautiful. We went through the jungle by the river and the views were outstanding. Our Guide Jose was very professional, he gave us directions of how to proceed throughout the tour on the boat and he also gave us the confidence to go for it. One of the highlights of the tour was the stop we made for lunch in the middle of the way, we ate burritos made with fresh local vegetables, chicken and guacamole and on top of it fresh pineapple and watermelon all cut and prepared on the spot. We felt like we were friends with them, they gave us this unique experience and we didn’t fell like in some other places were you are just the money for them. I have no words for this experience. I want to thank the guides both Jose for such an unforgettable experience and for treating us sooo good. Pura Vida!

Excellent option - Everything great from the first moment we contacted them. They are very professional, they explain everything and make you spend a few hours very fun, exciting and adrenaline rise!! We slept the night before in Turrialba.

Rafting Río Pacuare, fun, excitement, adventure! - This was our first time on this river, it was simply amazing! Our guide, Rodrigo from Peru, was just perfect! He made us all feel safe, while making it incredibly fun! He has so much knowledge about rafting and about the area. Very informative. I was concerned as it was just I and my three teens on the boat. I thought maybe this was not enough power to navigate the boat, but Rodrigo guided us wonderfully!

Unforgettable experience not to be missed! - An unforgettable experience with a very friendly and safe team. The course is beautiful and we enjoyed it despite having little or no experience. Less highlighted than other local activities but frankly we don’t regret a second even if the cost is a bit high, it seems right considering the safety offered and the quality of the attendants. A bit disappointing - My wife and I have never done rafting before and we really wanted to try it on famous Pacuare River. I contacted Explornatura few months ago to ask about details, they responded immediately so I booked Rafting Pacuare River Tour. As we traveled by bus and getting to Turrialba from Cahuita it isn't easy I contacted them asking about the current situation. They told me everything is fine. A day later, when we were already in Turrialba, they contacted me to confirm a pick up time - everything was very professional until this point. On the day we are supposed to do a rafting on Pacuare river, 30 minutes before the pick up, they contacted us to tell that we can cancel the rafting or do it Pejibaye river. As we really wanted to do rafting, we took three buses to get to Turrialba and had no other plans we agreed on it. It was nice, guides were friendly, everything was well organized but we still felt dissatisfied. As it was our first rafting we don't have any comparison but we assume that it would be much more interesting on Pacuare river and, as far as we know, some other agencies did it that day. Also, during the rafting they told us that they also did it a day before so when they contacted us to confirm the pick up they could already mention the water's level is high and maybe they will need to cancel it. As they told us at the last moment we didn't have a proper time to think, check other agencies, etc. As I wrote the rafting was nice but we feel dissatisfied as we expected something more. During rafting on Pacuare river we suppose to spend 3-4 hours on the water. We were picked up at 8.15am and back in Turrialba at 12.15pm, I didn't check how long we were on the water but I suppose around 2 hours as we drove a bit, needed to prepare, had lunch and changed clothes at the end. And the price of both is almost the same.
