Giza Pyramids, Saqqara, Dahshur & Dinner cruise

Pyramids of Giza - Begin your luxurious, hassle-free day tour with a warm welcome from our professional Egyptologist tour guide. As your tour commences, our guide will provide a comprehensive introduction to Egyptian history. Start by visiting the Giza Pyramids, one of the ancient seven wonders and the only one still standing. These iconic structures are perhaps the most famous and discussed in history. Your tour begins at the Giza Plateau Pyramids. Move smoothly from one pyramid to another, marveling at the magnificent pyramid of King Khufu (Cheops), the largest pyramid in the world. Continue to Khafre (Chephren), noted for its smooth fine limestone at the top, similar to what once covered all ancient pyramids. Proceed to the Panoramic Zone for a photo stop to capture picturesque shots with the three pyramids in the background, and enjoy a complimentary camel ride.

Great Sphinx - On your way, pass by the valley temple of King Khafre, where his mummy was mummified. Conclude your memorable tour with a visit to the Great Sphinx, which has stood on the Giza plateau for thousands of years.

Saqqara (Sakkara) Pyramids - Visit Saqqara, one of the most important ancient cemeteries in Egyptian history. The name likely derives from Sokar, the god of this Necropolis. Saqqara is an open-air museum featuring artifacts from every period of ancient Egypt’s history, from the predynastic period to the Greco-Roman era. This site also houses the Step Pyramid of Djoser (c. 2686-2667 BC), the oldest stone edifice in human history, built by Imhotep, the vizier, in the 27th century BCE under the Third Dynasty. The pyramid is the focal point of a massive funeral complex set in a vast courtyard surrounded by ceremonial buildings and decorations.

Pyramids of Dahshour - Begin your tour in Dahshour by visiting the Bent Pyramids, the first attempt to build a pyramid in history. King Senfru started building this pyramid with an angle of 54 degrees, but realizing it would be too high, he changed it to 45 degrees, resulting in the pyramid’s bent shape. The Bent Pyramid is renowned for its magnificent limestone outer casing, which has survived to this day, and its unique inner corridors, offering an unforgettable exploration experience. Continue to the Red Pyramid, known as the first true pyramid in history, named for its reddish limestone covering, which unfortunately no longer exists.

Giza - Move on to the delicious part of the tour and sample authentic Egyptian traditional cuisine. Choose from Koshary, a special combination of rice, noodles, chickpeas, black lentils, fried onions, and tomato sauce; Shawarma, made of spit-roasted layers of lamb, beef, or other meat, often wrapped in or served with pita; or a Falafel sandwich, deep-fried balls or patties made from chickpeas or fava beans, sometimes both, with Fava beans and Baba Ganoush sandwiches (made of eggplant blended with tahini, garlic, lemon juice, and salt). At the end of your tour, we will drive you back to your hotel.

Nile River - Enjoy a 2-hour Nile River night cruise with a buffet dinner or lunch, including pickup and drop-off from your hotel in Cairo or Giza. As you cruise along the river, enjoy various entertainment shows such as a belly dancer, Sufi dancers, and a band. You will be guided by a local tour guide. The tour includes round-trip transportation by private vehicle and lasts a total of 3 hours with transfers.

Egyptian Museum, Museum of Egyptian Civilization with the Royal Mummies, Old Coptic Cairo

Egyptian Museum - The Egyptian Museum of Antiquities, located in the heart of Cairo, was the first building in the world specifically constructed to serve as a museum. Opened in 1902, it houses more than 160,000 artifacts dating from prehistoric to Roman periods. During the museum tour, you will see the treasures of the golden pharaoh King Tutankhamun, including his golden mask, throne, and other artifacts found in his tomb. You will also experience other masterpieces like the treasures and mummies of Yuya and Thuya, the silver casket of King Psusennes II, and other famous statues from the Old Kingdom era.

National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC) - NMEC showcases the richness and complexity of Egyptian civilization from prehistoric times to the present day. The tour includes a visit to the Royal Mummies Exhibition, the museum’s crown jewel. The Royal Mummies’ Hall is designed to give visitors the impression of wandering through the Valley of the Kings, where most of these mummies were originally found. The hall houses 22 Royal mummies, including 18 kings and 4 queens from the 17th to the 20th dynasties. Notable mummies include King Ahmose, founder of the 18th Dynasty; Queen Hatshepsut, the most important female pharaoh; Thutmose III, the great warrior; and Ramses II, the great builder.

Old Cairo - Explore the most intriguing Coptic sites in Old Cairo. Visit the Hanging Church, also known as the Suspended Church, built atop the Roman Fortress’ southern gate. Its roof, shaped like Noah’s ark, makes this church unique. From the seventh to the thirteenth century, it served as the Coptic Patriarch’s home. Next, visit the Church of St. Sergius and St. Bacchus, one of the most important churches in Old Cairo, built at the end of the 4th century and the beginning of the 5th century AD. The Holy Family stayed here during the 1st century AD. This Basilica church consists of a rectangular building, with its level lower than the street level.

Cairo - Conclude your tour with a taste of authentic Egyptian traditional cuisine.
