An outstanding Vietnamese cooking school! Cannot recommend it enough - I was tutored by Mango whom I cannot recommend enough! She spoke excellent English, was very patient and detailed, taking the time to ensure I understood the techniques and each ingredient. She knew every item's English translation, and when comparing to other foods around the world, she knew the English term for each.
The tour started with a wet market. It wasn't one of those rushed market walks which I had experienced in previous cooking classes around the world. This was a detailed stop to ensure I understood totally new herbs, new fruit, as well as spices. She explained about the various fish meat and seafood produce around us and answered each question in detail with with a smile. Then we drove to the beautiful garden community of the cooking class. In this garden we had the ingredients well laid out and ready. She taught me Vietnamese food shopping techniques and we made four dishes; chicken Pho noodle soup, grilled beef and beetle leaves, beef and noodle cold salad, and spring rolls which were a complete surprise to me because there were nothing like spring rolls I had tasted before in Vietnamese restaurants in Europe. These spring rolls with mouth watering, flavorful and very fresh. She made sure that I mastered the technique of rolling these spring rolls. Cooking in this beautiful garden with a company and guidance of mango was a real delight. I will return with new skills which I hope will allow me to try at least some fresh Vietnamese dishes.

Top cooking class! - The cooking class at Mango was a really nice experience in Vietnam. I recommend it to everyone I meet in Vietnam.
Mango has welcomed us with love in her home. We cooked very well together and Mango explains everything with a lot of passion.
I have learned a lot and will take home a lot of tips.

An unforgettable morning - From the heartfelt thanks to the very interesting and educational market walk including tasting to the tour through the herbs and fruit garden to the open air cooking school itself a very nice experience.
Chef mango, knows an incredible amount about all the ingredients and preparation including background information. The talks were very exciting. At the same time we cooked wonderful food together and then enjoyed it. You can feel that she is passionate about every fibre.

Amazing - Whole experience was absolutely amazing. From visiting the local.market and trying fresh produce to coming back to cook. Very hands on and learnt alot about Vietnamese culture and cooking

Wonderful experience - Wonderful experience, worth every penny. Trang, our teacher, made sure we enjoyed every minute - she was great in involving our 2 teeneagers who absolutely loved the whole day. She turned the cooking into a competition between kids and parents and the kids won! :-) And she was very patient at answering all our questions, in excellent English.
It was not only a fun experience but we learnt so much about Vietnamese cuisine. We started the afternoon at the market and had a chance to taste things we wouldn't notice on our own.
The cooking itself was perfectly organised and smooth. It was easy enough for everybody to manage but very interesting at the same time.
The venue of the class is really beautiful and it made the experience extra special.
Before the class I hesitated as there are many classes in Hanoi which are much cheaper but would definitely decide for Thom Culinary again.

Excellent experience in a wonderful location - Our group enjoyed a market tour with Trang and then a garden tour and cooking class in her beautiful facility. The class was a perfect mix of hands-on and demonstrations. We enjoyed a bountiful meal. Trang is delightful, she leads a wonderful team (jncluding Lou the sweet dog) and the setting is tranqil. Highly recommended

Very special experience - What a spectacular day! We took a family class and the whole experience was magical -- from the lovely women in the rice store to the enchanting venue to the excellent cooking class itself. I have taken cooking classes on many trips and I think Trang's class was truly in a league of its own.

Mango Chef - Thank you so much Mango Chef. My husband and I had such a wonderful day. Visiting the wholesale fruit and vegetable markets and especially the nut and dried goods area. Fascinating. Beautiful aromatic smells. Our actual cooking class in the tranquil garden outside of Hanoi was the perfect day to spend a fun day. So pleased with the menu which we made ourselves. Delicious. More than just a cooking class - This tour and cooking class was absolutely fantastic—I couldn’t find a single fault. Trang, the instructor, is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about food. The market tour was fascinating and offered an experience you might not have without this tour. Trang also arranged hotel pickup and drop-off, with the added bonus of a cyclo ride to the market. If you’re interested in food or Vietnamese culture, this is the perfect experience. I can’t recommend it highly enough. Thank you, Trang, for an unforgettable experience and for the skills that I’ll carry with me forever.
