Magnificent day out of the city - This day out started at 08:00 and first stop wss a short rest stop where we got some coffee and saw how they traditionally make beautiful pictures. The next stop was the Cu Chi War Tunnels. Our guide for the day was Xuyen. Xuyen is a lovely person, very friendly and explained to us about the life in the tunnels and guided us around the site, making sure we did not miss the interesting parts. This is a once in a life time place to visit and it's hard to imagine how they dug all those tunnels. Second stop was Cai Dao Temple where we saw a religious ceremony taking place. It was great to see and look at something you might never see again. Third and final stop was the majestic Black Virgin Mountain complex. The drive is long but it is worth it for the beauty of the place. We saw the laughing Buddha and Zen Garden and wandered around enjoying the views. We also managed to have a delicious buffet lunch in the restaurant. This part of the tour you can explore the mountain complex yourself and take your time. I recommend this tour and our guide for the day who was Xuyen.

The best tour - It was great! It began with contact from my tour guide Xuyen contacting me days before the trip to her dropping me off at my hotel. She was very friendly, very professional and had a wealth of knowledge about every attraction that we visited including history of Vietnam. Xuyen made me feel like I was part of the Vietnamese culture and was very instrumental in helping me to learn some of the basics about Vietnamese culture and some basic phrases that helped me to interact with many of the Vietnamese people. She also gave me the opportunity to enjoy and explore each tour site without rushing me. This was truly the most enjoyable tourist experience that I’ve had in many years. Thank you Xuyen and Viator for this amazing experience and having such a top notch tour guide .

Must do tour in Ho Chi Minh!! - Absolutely amazing experience! Our tour to the Cu Chi Tunnels, Cao Dai Temple, and Black Virgin Mountain was unforgettable. Xuyen was an incredible guide, fluent in both English and Vietnamese, making it so easy for our family to learn and connect. The Cu Chi Tunnels were fascinating – getting to explore and learn about the Vietnam War history up close was a unique experience. Plus, shooting an AK-47 was a thrilling bonus! The Cao Dai Temple was stunning, with its vibrant colors and peaceful atmosphere. Finally, the hidden gem at Black Virgin Mountain, with its majestic Buddha, was the perfect end to the tour. The drive was well worth it, offering some amazing views along the way. Highly recommend this tour and especially Xuyen as your guide!

Excellent day trip with exceptional places - Firstly I would thank Xuyen who ensured that we start the day tour bit earlier from my usual booked time to avoid the queue and it was an amazing trip with good time management and also thanks to the driver. The best part was I was alone in this trip and I had ample time exploring all the places which included Black Virgin Mountain, Cao Dai temple, Chu Chi Tunnel. The history related to the Chu Chi Tunnel during the war about the soldiers was incredible. Took the experience of going through the tunnels and learn other aspects of the war with the knowledge of the tour guides. The other places visited after the Chu Chi tunnels was the Cao Dai temple which was very beautiful with great architecture. Finally the Black Virgin Mountain which I visited by taking the cable car had a splendid view of the incredible standing statue of the lady along the laughing Buddha facing the view of Hanoi region which was incredible and art galleries, theatre related to Buddha as well Zen garden with beautiful statues. I would definitely recommend visiting this place. Not to forget Xuyen my tour guide was knowledge and humble. And she makes sure that I didn't miss anything during the visits.

Loved the visit!! - This experience was breathtaking and extremely fun! The temple and tunnels were stunning, displaying beautiful views and a profound history. However, our favorite was the mountain. From the moment we got on the cable car, we weee overwhelmed by a wave of tranquility. Soothing music played and wind brushed against us as the cable car went atop the mountain with stunning views. The top was all the more exciting, with a very cute garden and amazing, tall statues. The whole place was super clean with so much to do. On top of this, the food was amazing and very vegan friendly! Our guide Xuyen and driver Tuan were splendid. They made sure we got to do everything we wanted in a timely fashion. They were super sweet and accommodating! 10/10 experience!

Great small group tour to fantastic sights with skipping the big slow group. - Was looking around to do the tunnels + black mountain last minute and was able to find this when most others were filled. The trip itself was fantastic hitting the classic tourist spot but also the temple and mountain are much less well known and astounding views I had never heard of. My guide xuyen was fantastic as well helping get the most out of the experience, explaining the background for each stop & fully letting me set the pace. If you want to skip the big tour busses & waits for slow people while hitting all the highlights I would highly recommend booking.

Tour guide slept much of the time. Bad driver. Worst team of all guides and drivers in SE Asia - NOTE: temple and mountain are more than 3 hours one way drive. Total tour length is 12+ hours NOT 8 as stated. Driver drove slow, got passed by buses, significantly below the speed limit. Also, jerky - gas, then no gas. Car was clean but very uncomfortable driving style. Driver did not open car door for us, which all other drivers we had were gracious and always opened the door and were otherwise courteous. This driver was NOT gracious or courteous. Guide did good job explaining Cu Chi tunnels and answered questions but was silent during the long car ride, providing no information on local life, buildings, architecture, religion, people, nothing - the drive was a waste of time. She slept during much of the car ride (see pictures). Given poor driver and lack of information provided, we cut the tour short and went back to our hotel after the tunnels. Wished we would have booked half day, using speed boat. We did not expect a refund for cutting the tour short and none was offered by the tour operator. We did many private tours (~10) in SE Asia with drivers and guides. This pair was the worst by far!
