Great introduction to Newcastle - A great introduction to Newcastle with a knowledgeable and friendly guide. There were only 4 of us on the tour but Rob took his time as we went around the city. He also suggested a few extra places to take a look at. A very enjoyable and worthwhile 3 hours.

Durham ladies - Rob is a great guide and, although we are locals, he brings the City to life with lots of interesting information and fascinating stories. I now know where the term ‘fall off the wagon’ came from.

Informative Doorstep Tour (for natives as well as tourists!) - If you would love to know more about our beautiful City of Newcastle upon Tyne then this is definitely the tour for you. Rob certainly knows his stuff! My hubby and I, now in our 60s, were born and bred in Blyth and Rob took us on a fun and informative tour of our magnificent city where we learnt how Newcastle is what it is today. It is steeped in history; we learnt about the Romans, the Medieval friars, the brilliant architects, builders, engineers, entrepreneurs, and political influencers, and their contributions to change in our world, along with tales of how communities lived, not forgetting, the history of the Mayfair Ballroom which brought back memories of music from our formative years. Rob is engaging, with a great sense of humour, and you can tell that he loves what he does. We take for granted the artefacts and symbols of history that we simply don't even notice, and walk past without realising what they signify! This tour is a must for anyone with a thirst for knowledge and wonder of our beautiful city. Thank you Rob for such an enjoyable afternoon :-) xx

Not enough walking! - This tour fell short of my expectations in two ways: the distance covered was only 1.53 miles (so we *saw* less, and secondly the tour overran by 30 minutes (resulting in a very late lunch 🙁). As the 2.5 hour point was reached, Rob explained we were going at the speed of the slowest person in the group. Er Rob, that was you! A more realistic reason for the overrun was that the information given between short walks was … a LOT! I will agree with all other reviewers that Rob is great, friendly, and super-knowledgeable but, for me at least, there was too much talking and not enough walking. However, overall I enjoyed the tour and it fulfilled the primary expectation - to learn loads about Newcastle in a morning - admirably. Suggestion: Perhaps the tour could start an hour earlier so that it didn’t encroach on lunch time?
