In 1974, Jeongam took office and prayed for the temple’s restoration as Avalokitesvara. He dreamt of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva dressed in white ascending to heaven on a dragon, leading to the temple’s renaming to Haedong Yonggungsa Temple.
