Mengening Temple - Pura Mengening is situated in the village of Saraseda, Tampaksiring, in the Gianyar regency of Bali. The temple area is refreshingly cool and surrounded by stunning natural scenery. Pura Mengening serves as a site for melukat (self-purification with holy water) and for obtaining tirtha (holy water for Hindu ceremonies). Within the temple grounds, there is a pool designated for self-cleansing, divided into separate sections for men and women. These springs are natural and have been present since the 11th century. The water in these pools is exceptionally cool and clear. Before bathing and praying for physical and spiritual refreshment, visitors are expected to present canang and incense.
