Udawalawe National Park is a national park on the boundary of Sabaragamuwa and Uva Provinces in Sri Lanka. The park was created to provide a sanctuary for wild animals displaced by the construction of the Udawalawe Reservoir on the Walawe River, as well as to protect the catchment of the reservoir.

Amazing guide great safari - Gimhana is a fabulous guide. We initially had afternoon safari booked but Gimhana made contact and suggested the following morning would be better due to expected rain. The morning is also cooler. We were blown away with the gorgeous wildlife we saw and Gimhana was so informative about all the animals - the best was all the elephants - they are beautiful animals. Thank you so much Gimhana.

Excellent elephant safari - Great afternoon Safari. Gimhana is very friendly and knowledgable. We saw monkeys, lizards, crocodiles, peacocks and lots of elephant. Would highly recommend.

100% recommend - Definitely recommend this tour, we enjoyed it very much, saw a lot of animals inluding leopard and turtles which was very lucky! Gimihana was happy to share his knowledge and found nice intimate places for breakfast and lunch.

Amazing experience! - This tour was absolutely amazing! Gimhana made the whole safari experience truly amazing, we saw lots of elephant groups and individual elephants, they came up very close to the jeep. It is clear that Gimhana has done this time and again and is more than happy to share his experience. We also saw other animals including a male peacock trying to attract a female (no luck though)!
Gimhana also helped us arrange travel to and from Colombo which just made everything easier. I highly recommend this tour

Wonderful experience! - Wonderful experience! The guide was very knowledgeable and could answer all our questions in length and patience, helped to spot the animals and birds that we've overlooked, therefore we have seen more animals than we expected. And yet he left enough of space for us to just enjoy the views! Absolutely amazing safari tour and I definitely recommend!

Best tour! - Such a wonderful time with Chamara! He is very knowledgeable, professional, and good at his job. He was able to spot and name so many different types of wildlife we saw, and we learned so much, especially about elephants. He was beyond accommodating and made the experience the best one in Sri Lanka I’ve had yet!

Afternoon filled with elephants and peacocks! - Celebrating our honeymoon in Sri Lanka and this was #1 on the list. We had a great time and Gimhana was a great guide who was all smiles and welcomed us warmly. We saw peacocks dance, monkeys, so many birds, plenty of spotted deer, and of course elephants.
My favorite part was when it was reaching dusk and the weather was perfect. The sun was starting to set and we saw a baby and her mom and another elephant friend. We highly recommend to anyone who wants to see elephants in their natural habitat, ethically, and in an amazing open space full of beautiful nature.

Wonderful safari with many elephants. - We had a great safari tour with Gimhana.we were lucky to see 3 different family of elephants also crocodiles,deers,buffaloes and kind of birds.Gimhana was knowledgeable and had lot of information about animals and plants.We highly recommend you book your safari with him.
