Murchison Falls National Park - On the first day of your 10-day primates and wildlife safari in Uganda, our guide will pick you up from the hotel and brief you about the itinerary. You’ll then embark on a drive to Murchison Falls National Park, passing through the lush countryside and Luweero, where the guide will explain the historical significance of the area. You’ll have lunch en route and arrive at the park to visit the top of the falls, where you’ll witness the breathtaking sight of water gushing through an 8-meter gorge and plunging 45 meters. Afterward, you’ll head to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Morning Game Drive and Afternoon Boat Cruise.
Murchison Falls National Park - Start your day with a hearty breakfast before heading out with your guide for a game drive in the northern sector of the park. You’ll have the opportunity to see giraffes, elephants, lions, antelopes, buffaloes, hartebeests, warthogs, and more. After the game drive, return for lunch and a brief rest. In the afternoon, drive to the Nile for an exciting boat cruise. The cruise offers stunning views of the Nile and its surroundings, including Nile crocodiles, hippos, and various animals and bird species along the shores. After the cruise, return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Transfer from Murchison Falls National Park to Kibale Forest National Park
Kibale National Park - After an early breakfast, pack your bags and board the vehicle for a transfer to Kibale Forest National Park, known for hosting the largest number of primates in Uganda and East Africa. The drive takes about 6 hours, with a stop at Fort Portal town to admire the natural beauty, including views of the Rwenzori ranges and crater lakes. You may opt for a Bigodi swamp walk to observe various bird species. Later, head to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Morning Chimpanzee Trekking
Kibale National Park - On the fourth day, start early with breakfast before heading to Kibale National Park, home to several primate species including l’hoest monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabeys, vervet monkeys, olive baboons, and red-tailed monkeys. The main attraction is the chimpanzees. During the trek, you’ll encounter various primates and appreciate the jungle’s flora and fauna. Spend up to an hour with the chimpanzees, taking photos and observing their behavior. After the trek, return to your accommodation for lunch. In the afternoon, depart Kibale Forest National Park for Queen Elizabeth National Park, arriving in the late afternoon or evening. Check in at your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 5 Game Drive and Boat Cruise.
Queen Elizabeth National Park - Begin your day with breakfast before heading out for a game drive in the Kasenyi plains, where you’ll search for Uganda kobs, warthogs, elephants, hippos, buffaloes, and lions. You may also visit craft shops for souvenirs. Return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, which connects Lake Edward and Lake George. The channel is home to hippos, elephants, buffaloes, crocodiles, and various bird species.
Day 6: Forest Walks and Chimpanzee Tracking.
Transfer to Bwindi Forest National Park.
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park - After breakfast, embark on a journey to Bwindi Forest National Park, located south of Queen Elizabeth Park. You’ll pass through Ishasha, with a chance to see tree-climbing lions. Continue to Bwindi, home to gorillas and rich in flora and fauna, including 400 plant species and 120 mammal species. The drive offers views of tea and banana plantations. Upon arrival, check in at your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Gorilla Trekking and Community Walk
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park - After breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla tracking procedures. You’ll be assigned a game ranger and a gorilla family to track. The trek can take between 50 minutes to 7 hours, during which you’ll encounter other wildlife. Spend up to an hour with the gorillas, taking photos and observing them. After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon, take a guided community walk to learn about the local way of life.
Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park.
Lake Mburo National Park - After breakfast, embark on a journey to Lake Mburo National Park, passing through the hills of Kabale and lush countryside. The drive takes about 6 hours. Lake Mburo is home to herds of zebras, antelopes, waterbucks, buffaloes, giraffes, elands, baboons, warthogs, and various bird species. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at your hotel.
Game Drive and Transfer to Kampala.
Kampala - On the last day of your safari, start with an early morning game drive to see zebras, buffaloes, elands, waterbucks, antelopes, hippos, giraffes, warthogs, and various bird species. Return to the lodge to check out and transfer to Kampala, with a stop at the equator for lunch. Continue to Kampala and then to Entebbe for your flight back home.
