DAY 1: DEPART ENTEBBE/KAMPALA - TRAVEL TO MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK

DAY 1: DEPART ENTEBBE/KAMPALA - TRAVEL TO MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast, a representative from Ssemambo Alex Tours and Travel will pick you up from the hotel and drive you to Murchison Falls National Park. On the way, visit Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a Big 5 Experience, including an hour of rhino tracking. Another stop will be in Masindi for lunch.
Continue the journey to Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest national park, where you can see lions, giraffes, hartebeests, buffaloes, and elephants. Arriving in the late afternoon, visit the top of the falls to witness the magnificent falls passing through a 7m gap in the rocks, forming the Victoria Nile. Later, check into your lodge and relax for the evening.

DAY 2: GAME DRIVE - BOAT CRUISE
Enjoy an early breakfast before embarking on a morning game drive across the rolling plains of Uganda’s largest national park. Look out for wildlife such as lions, giraffes, and elephants. Bird enthusiasts can spot various birds like kingfishers, standard nightjars, and herons. Return to the lodge for rest and lunch.
After lunch, take a 2-3 hour boat/launch cruise to the base of Murchison Falls, where you can see more animals, including hippos and crocodiles, and several water birds like kingfishers, wagtails, herons, and shoebills. Optionally, hike to the top of the falls to enjoy the thunderous roars as the falls pass through an 8m gorge and drop 43m to meet the Victoria Nile. The hike may be strenuous, but the thrill at the top is unforgettable. Return to your accommodation for a relaxed evening.

DAY 3: CHIMPANZEE TRACKING IN BUDONGO FOREST
After an early breakfast, head to Budongo Forest for chimpanzee tracking, which takes approximately 3-5 hours. The forest is known for its tall Mahogany tree species and numerous primates, including the Forest Galago, red-tailed monkeys, potto, and blue monkeys. Bird species like the yellow-footed eye-catcher and white-thighed hornbill can also be seen. Return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

DAY 4: TRANSFER TO SEMULIKI NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast, drive to Semuliki National Park in Bundibugyo district along Uganda’s western border. Enjoy the spectacular drive with views of Lake Albert and the legendary Rwenzori Mountains. The park is located in the western Albertine Rift Valley region and occupies the eastern section of Ituri Forest, connecting Uganda with the Congo River, separated by River Semuliki. The park is home to approximately 400 bird species, mainly forest birds. In the evening, you can opt for a night game drive through the park. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

DAY 5: GAME DRIVE - EXPLORE THE SEMPAYA HOT SPRINGS
After breakfast, drive to the Toro Semuliki Wildlife Reserve to catch early species emerging from their hideouts. Animals to see include savannah elephants, waterbucks, buffaloes, warthogs, Uganda kobs, crocodiles, and bush babies. Return to the lodge for lunch, then visit the Sempaya Hot Springs. These springs feature a geyser that shoots up from an 8m hole, with water temperatures exceeding 100 degrees Celsius. You can taste boiled eggs and bananas cooked in the hot springs. Along the trail, spot birds like the blue-breasted kingfisher and primates such as red-tailed monkeys and blue-cheeked mangabeys. Proceed to Mungilo Waterfalls to see various beautiful bird species, a great time for birders. Return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

DAY 6: TRANSFER TO KIBALE NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast, drive to Kibale National Park, enjoying the scenic drive southwest through Fort Portal, where you will have a lunch break. Sights include the Toro Kingdom Palace, Royal Tombs, the mosque, several shops, and more. Kibale National Park is famous for its primates, including chimpanzees, black and white colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, and L’Hoest’s monkeys. On your chimpanzee trails, see them swinging in the forest trees and feeding on wild fruits. The park is also one of Africa’s great rainforests and has the largest community of chimpanzees, consisting of 1-100 individuals.
After lunch, take a guided nature walk to Bigodi Swamp Sanctuary, a good spot for birders. Look out for the great blue turaco, papyrus gonolek, herons, and kingfishers. Other primate species to view include bush pigs, baboons, bushbucks, and more. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge.

DAY 7: CHIMPANZEE TRACKING - DEPARTURE TO KAMPALA/ENTEBBE
After an early breakfast, go to the staff headquarters for a briefing on the dos and don’ts of chimpanzee trekking. Begin your search for chimpanzees in the park, which can take half a day depending on their movement. These primates share 98% of their DNA with humans. Other primates in the area include golden monkeys, baboons, L’Hoest’s monkeys, white and black colobus monkeys, red colobus, and blue monkeys. Other animals to watch include forest elephants and giant forest hogs. Later, return to Kampala/Entebbe with lunch along the way, concluding the safari.
