Murchison Falls National Park - At 6:00 am, the safari adventure begins, heading north from Kampala to Murchison Falls National Park. A friendly and experienced guide will pick up the group, provide a briefing about the trip, and drive towards Murchison Falls National Park. There will be a stop at Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary to encounter Uganda’s endangered white rhinos. Afterward, the journey continues to Murchison Falls National Park, where a hike to the top of the falls offers a breathtaking view of the Nile as it forces its way through the rocks, creating a stunning scene. The sight of the calm Nile dropping through a narrow gorge, falling about 150 feet with a thunderous roar, is truly remarkable. Following this activity, an introductory game drive will lead to the lodge. Upon arrival, guests will check in, relax, enjoy dinner, and have the option of a campfire.
Early Morning Game Drive and Afternoon Boat Cruise
Murchison Falls National Park - After breakfast, the day begins with an early morning game drive across the expansive plains of Uganda’s largest National Park. Spanning 3,893 sq km, the park is home to a variety of animals, offering the chance to see lions, giraffes, hartebeest, buffaloes, and elephants. Bird enthusiasts can spot species like the secretary bird and the black-chested snake eagle.
In the afternoon, a boat trip to the base of Murchison Falls awaits, where the Nile crashes through a narrow 7-meter gap, plunging 43 meters on its way to Lake Albert. The riverbanks are teeming with crocodiles, hippopotamuses, and other wildlife that come to drink.
Transfer to Kibale National Park with Enroute Lunch
Kibale National Park - The journey continues to Kibale National Park, renowned as the primate capital of East Africa and home to chimpanzees. Kibale Forest hosts 13 primate species, with chimpanzee tracking as the main attraction. The journey offers stunning views and diverse birdlife, passing through small villages, towns, and local markets, with a stop for lunch along the way.
Chimpanzee Trekking Experience & Relaxation Evening
Kibale National Park - After an early breakfast, the guide will drive to the park offices for a briefing on chimpanzee trekking. During the trek, there will be opportunities to get close to the chimps and capture photos of these fascinating creatures in their natural habitat. Besides chimps, the forest is home to 9 different monkey species, such as the red-tailed monkey and bush babies. The forest canopy is alive with colorful butterflies and various bird species, including the Great blue Turaco, joyful greenbul, olive long-tailed cuckoo, and the superb black bee eater. After the trek, guests will return to their accommodation to rest and relax, preparing for the journey to Bwindi the next morning.
Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Queen Elizabeth National Park - The journey proceeds to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to half of the world’s mountain gorillas, as well as forest elephants, buffalos, duikers, chimpanzees, and other monkeys. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is also a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park - After breakfast, guests will gather at the park headquarters for a briefing at 8 am before starting the gorilla trekking adventure. The trek follows trails through the forest’s hilly landscapes and dense undergrowth, earning it the name “Impenetrable.” Upon encountering the gorillas, a 6-meter distance must be maintained. The duration of the trek varies, depending on the location of the gorilla families, and can last 2 to 8 hours, including one hour of direct interaction. Observing the critically endangered apes as they forage, socialize, and the young gorillas play on tree branches, while the Silverback asserts his authority, is a truly awe-inspiring experience.
