Bwindi Impenetrable National Park - Begin the day with breakfast and check out for a tour of Kigali City, starting with a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre. Following this, travel to northern Rwanda to explore the Twin Lakes of Burera and Ruhondo. Relish a delicious lake fish lunch and proceed to the viewpoint, where you can admire the stunning scenery of the Five Volcanic Mountains extending to the Congo DRC borders. The three countries—Rwanda, Uganda, and Congo DRC—converge at the tip of the Sabyinyo peak. Capture beautiful photos and continue to the Cyanika border to cross into Uganda. Drive through Kisoro town, arriving in Bwindi in the afternoon. Check into your lodge, and in the evening, enjoy a Batwa Cultural Visit. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.
Gorilla trek and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
Lake Bunyonyi - Start with an early breakfast and head to the Park Headquarters for a briefing on the dos and don’ts of Gorilla trekking. After the briefing, embark on the trek through dense vegetation. Trekking gorillas in Bwindi, Uganda, is quite challenging as it involves navigating rugged terrain with steep slopes and valleys. The jungle is vibrant with rich forest sounds. The trek lasts between 2 to 8 hours, and you have one hour to spend with the Gorillas once spotted. We will then transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, renowned as one of the most beautiful places in western Uganda. It is the second deepest lake in Africa (900 meters deep) and one of the few places in the country where swimming is safe, as it is free from bilharzia. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the lodge.
Boat ride and transfer back to Kigali
Kigali - After breakfast, enjoy a boat ride on Lake Bunyonyi, exploring various islands and scenic viewpoints. Afterwards, drive back to Kigali City via the Katuna border, another crossing point between Rwanda and Uganda, arriving in the evening to catch your late evening departure flight.
